bye bye Stang hello Harley

the first one i was looking at sold. i found another one in FL that looks good.
new truck

are they really that bad on gas? i had planned one getting a turbo back exhaust, programmer, intake and either propane or nitrous hooked up as soon as i get it along with a tv and tinted windows.
Sorry...I commented before I clued in it was a diesel. It may not be as hard on fuel as I thought. But it's still a pig compared to your Mustang. :D

i dont know if i'll be happy with a truck but i know that i am spending a lot of money on my car that i drive once every 2 weeks. i can drive the truck everyday a ........

That's what I thought when I bought my '00 GT convertable last fall. I've had a "play" car of some sort for years and decided I'd just get a nice Mustang that I could use for a daily driver and play with and do away with owning 2 cars for my use. HA!
The Mustang I got is so nice, I don't drive it except on nice days and keep it covered 95% of the time. Because of the lousey weather we've had since January, I haven't driven the 'Stang in a couple of months. I've been using my wife's Subaru most of the winter just to keep my nicely detailed "daily driver" clean and ready for Spring and all of the cruises and shows.
My wife finally caught on and, a couple of weeks ago, told me I should have a REAL driver. So, I bought a real nice '90 Mercury Marquis LS for $2500. Unfortuately, the Mercury is so nice I hate to drive it in lousy weather so I've been bumming the Subie for the last week or so because of the snow storms we've had in the last few weeks.
I tell my wife that the Merc is not that great in the snow and, so far, it's working. Now they're calling for much warmer weather with rain and I'm running out of excuses. Just be be aware of getting a really nice "daily driver" It could get expensive! :bang: (Enjoy the truck)

so nobody thinks the Harley F250 would be badass? i am really wanting one right now. i know i have a lot in my stang (35K already) and i just hate the idea of spending over 40K on a car that i cant get much out of. it will be a fast car if i finish it, but thats still about 4-5K away from happening.

ask yourself, do you really need a big obnoxious truck? if so, go for it. but if you are a yuppie like 90% of the guys who own trucks and never use them as intended, why bother?

i would like to have it to haul my 4wheelers. the ranger barely has the power to pull 2 big bore bikes now. not to mention it would have enough room to seat more than 2 people and i would have 4wd again

i sold my big obnoxious truck in october. my good old 87 K5 on 40" tsl's and straight pipe exhaust

So why not sell, or trade the Ranger in on the new truck and keep the stang as the weekend cruiser? It's awfuly nice having two different style vehicles to run around in.

It's not that it wouldn't be badass, because with a couple mods I bet that thing can cruise, but come on... your stang is f'ing awesome, and only 4-5k to finish it? Who puts 35k into a car, says "I'm only 5k away now, I better quit"... have some patience, and finish once you started. Once you do, you will have a one of a kind ride that's fast as hell, and if you do sell it you will regret it.

Words cannot even describe my burning hatred for giant obnoxious trucks so I will not bother to try to express myself on that...

Although it is a great time of year to sell a Mustang I really think you should give this some very serious thought. And after you have thought about it... Don't do it!

well, i dont know about man but im in pretty much the same place with the amount of money spent on my car.

at this point it seems like i cant sell it because i have invested too much and it would kill me to have all that money and time wasted.

the biggest thing for me is once i get rid of this thing...that is it. i will never do all this modifying again. regular cars for me.

so its now or never, and once gone never again. think about that.

Dunno if you're still considering it still since that truck sold.....but IMO its a complete waste of money to be spending that much money on a car you drive every 2 weeks. Seriously, have you ever figured out exactly how much you're paying to drive that thing for the actual amount of time you use it? I probably use my boat more hours a year than you drive that stang.

I'd be saying this no matter what car you had as your weekend fun car. I love mustangs, but I've always been of the opinion that your car you drive every day should be your fun car. WTF....why limit yourself to weekends for trips to the store, why not have fun everyday when you're in a vehicle?

Unless of course you have money flowing out your buttocks every time you sit.....and can afford to have a car that sits in the garage 95% of the time and like paying basically $100/hour to drive it.

Could just rent a sports car on a bi-weekly basis for cheaper I'd bet. So either drive the stang more....much more....or buy yourself a fun car to drive on a daily basis.
