Hey guys, car is making great progress. I got the granada front disk brake kit from Dennis with the slotted rotors, line lock from jegs, new rear leaf springs and shackles ect. and new rims (15 by7 in front and 15 by 8 in back) they are the jegs sport star rims. Question i have is the tires i got for the rear are 275 60 r15 and are looking pretty monsterous. I have a 1966 coupe and will be replacing the rear leaf springs to return the car to a normal ride height to try and fit these beast of tires in there. I havent tried yet because the car is at the shop getting the brakes and such put on, but I was wondering if these tires will fit without major modification. Rolling the fender lip and other small modifications are fine....let me know what you think...thanks

Matt :nice:

If there is any chance that they will fit, you must dial in your backspace perfectly.
The sort of situation where you take extensive measurements and order your rim according to the tires you want.

Will they fit? NO PROBLEM!

well, tried to get the tires on today and they will not fit without major modifications......looks like im going to have to go with a smaller tire. I was thinking along the lines of a 255 50 or 255 60 tire but I want to make sure it will fit before ordering it. The rear rims are 15 by 8 with 4.00 backspacing. Please let me know if these tires will fit...im desperate to get my car back

The backspacing is your problem. Ideally, you'd have 4.75" backspacing. With your backspacing, I'm not even sure the 235's will fit.
Agree, 225's will probably fit.
235/60/15's are definitely questionable, and will probably require fender lip rolling........ Even then, you're looking at 235/60's not the 235/70's - those will be too tall.
