no spark/injector pulsing

and it's not the PIP sensor.

I just recently dropped my engine back in and I'm 100% sure all the connectors are hooked back up like they should be.

I used a noid light to test for injector pulsing and they weren't pulsing. I changed out the distributor to a known good one and still no pulsing.

Can anyone point me in the right direction or tell me how to test the vehicles PIP harness?

also, I cut the wires for the fuel pump on the CCRM (ran a relay). I think it was the: Power to pump wire, input for pump (ground), power from battery, and switched 12 volt ones. Could any of those not being connected to the ccrm cause a no spark/no injector pulsing condition?

btw, I checked all the fuses but which ones should I check again just in case?

thanks

UPDATE: well, I borrowed an ICM from a friend and I'm going to put that on and see if that does anything

I still don't know why the fuel injectors aren't pulsing.

oh yeah, I tried to pull codes....and my code scanner wouldn't do anything.

OK sooo...another update:

after using the handy dandy search button and finding some VERY useful diagrams of the ccrm...I realized my dumb mistake.

basically, when I wired up my fuel pump relay I cut the wire that goes to 13. I thought it only connected to the FP relay....however, that one happens to control the pcm relay.....which controls injectors and all kinds of other stuff.

I'm 100% sure that's my problem...but I'm going to check it as soon as I can get to my car.

just putting it down in the forums in case anyone else has this problem.

Man, I'd like to give you positive input on your problem, but you've already tried everything I ever have. Is there any possibility the new PIP was bad?

I do hope you get this thing solved... Its kinda like ready a :SNSign: version of days of our lives:D :D

good luck,

I talked to Clay about it a little bit and I believe he got it all fixored up already (he tore through and did quick diagnostics). :nice:

It was a wiring issue.

oh sorry, I meant to update this.

JT, part of my problem was pin #13 for the eec relay. I fixed that and my code reader finally started working (though it didn't throw any codes that really helped me), but I was still having the issues. Well, I was leaning against the connector for my fuel injector harness and I saw my noid light that was still hooked up starting to flash :D.....checked it and found that I didn't completely bolt it down (d'oh)

currently: Car cranks, runs, and backfires occasionally at idle (I have to get a grommet for my ACT sensor so theres a bit of un-metered air coming in... and I still haven't timed it because I got a bit lazy). My major problem right now is the snapped valve cover bolt and the EZ OUT that's snapped off in it....gotta take the car to a machine shop once I tune it up a bit with the tweecer.

Thanks to everyone that helped :D

This place is awesome....and btw, that search button works pretty well ;)
