ok so i've been leaking antifreeze for a little bit and today i finally got to get under the car to look where the leak is coming from. Well i found that it is coming from the passenger side firewall up about6 inches from the bottom and theres a little tube that comes out and stops. Im told thats from the evaporator for the AC or something and my friend told me that means my heater core is going out when it starts leaking antifreeze out of it. Every time I turn my heat on you can smell coolant inside the car. Heater core was just replaced about 1 and a half years ago why is it going out again...? thanks guys

Someone correct me if Im wrong but the restrictor should be in the hose and not the heater core.

It actually goes in the larger tube of the heater core itself. You can make your own or some have just even used a small socket that will fit in there. Heater cores definitely need a flow restirctor or they will not last nearly as long as they should. Its also a good idea to replace it with a Ford one instead of a cheapie parts store one. Ford ones run $55 or so as opposed to $25 or so for a parts store one.
