What do you think of my custom grille? (pics)

It looks good. Most members on here don't have any style sense anyway. I challenge anyone else to come up with a better grill. All you need now is lower your Cobra. It just doesn't look good all jacked up.

Thanks. So far people have been kind with their opinions.

This is only my first winter with it. Did a lot of mods but more to come. Working towards a 100 shot of N2O.

it might be a little better but im not sure about that. it would just be a grille in the gap, i kind of wanted to get the gap fixed by using bondo or something (having my body shop do it, of corse)...but until then yea maybe i will do that.

I like the black grille a lot. But i can't say I like the Cobra Emblem on the side. Looks better in the middle. The only reason why it looks good on the GT500 is because the grille is so massively long. It doesn't look out of place being on the side there. Plus its retro =)

Nice work on the grille. But I personally think it would look better in the middle, or not on there at all, and just have your nice black grille plain

Not too shabby. I'm gonna try it, and I am gonna put the mesh way back in the opening, and am gonna spray it true blue. My only concern is, how flimsy is the material? The mounting method looks like it leaves the mesh able to flop about at high speeds and whatnot.

Also, how many layers of paint did you put on? I painted my factory grille, but rocks and bugs have chipped the crap out of it, and it looks like butt now.

I misunderstood. Thought it was below the grille. That gap would be difficult to fill with this method. Can't be much of a gap. The car looks sweet.

yea...its like almost a 1 inch gap. probably about an inch. its pretty bad. im still doing my grille like this though :D

haha thanks, it looks like that and has a whole new front end from being smashed into a pole lol. i love your car though you have inspired me to make this and im going a step further and doing all the openings with this mesh so everything matches:)

The material is aluminium so believe it or not, I used Rustoleum, one coat of primer and 2 coats of black satin. I didn't want it to shiny. The paint is for stuff like your lawm mower and chainsaw so it should hold up pretty good.
