hey guys, long time lurker here. i have priced out all the parts to physically fit a 351 based stroker into my car, but what supporting mods am i going to have to make? and how soon? ie is the stock t5 going to immediately **** the bed? can the stock rear-end handle the power? any 351 owners please chime in. thanks.

tranny definately. most people seem to be ok on the rear.

hood clearance is an issue. i got a k-member that can drop the motor 1" and move it back 1" too.

i went all out and got march pulleys and new polished fox accessories. but the point here is that now there is very little clearance between the water pump pulley and the fan. march doesn't make brackets for 94/95, at least they didn't last fall ...

please provide more details about the setup you are planning

"but the point here is that now there is very little clearance between the water pump pulley and the fan"

Can you elaborate onthis BV? clearance? since you put the marchs on? in general?

i did already factor in a cowl hood, although i am planning to use the stock k member (i believe it should work) just with new motor mounts (for budget reasons).

i have bbk pulleys on my car now, my plan is to use them along with as many as the 302 accesories as i can. will i have clearence issues with these?

for the block i'm planning on getting a 90's junkyard block out of a bronco, pick-up so it will accept a newer cam without any changes needed. and bringing it out to a 408. what esle do u need to know about the combo?

although i am planning to just get swap headers, and run my current exhaust (2.5 offroad h into 2.5 flow master am thunder) for budget reasons. will this be fine, or should i wait on the swap untill i can get a descent 3" exhaust?

The T-5 will hold up just fine depending on how you drive it. As long as you don't get sticky tires the drivetrain should hold up for a while.

All the 94-95 accessories will fit, but you will need a longer belt. I'm also using BBK pullies on mine, so that won't be a problem.

i had my mind set on march brackets. but since march did not have brackets for a 94/95, i decided to go with fox accessories (water pump, power steering, crank, a/c). now as you know, one difference between fox and 94/95 accessories is that the fox ones are located further away from the motor, by about an inch or so (which is why you need a spacer on the snout if you use a 94/95 kb on a fox). that moves the belt and all the pulleys that much closer to the radiator. the closest spot is between the water pump and the fan. and apparently, there is not much space between them now.

Oh. But a little space is still enough space right? Not being a smart -a jus tmaking sure cuz I guess I am going to run into this too.

It is going to be an "adventure" putting this in, lol

here is the pic my mechanic sent me. he said:

The one pic I am sending is of the water pump to fan clearance. There is hardly any. I hope it doesnt hit. This engine has the old style timing cover/water pump (the long style on 93 and back stuff) which sticks out further and makes for a VERY tight fit. Hopefully it will be ok.
i think the worry is that even though there is some room there, but the motor does move a little from the torque (even a stock 302 moves). but that is usually side to side, not front to back. i'm thinking that maybe an after market fan might be thinner ...
