:nonono: So i was walking to my car this afternoon from my dorm building and i do my usual inspection of door dings. And i usually start from the driver side and work my way to the passenger side. Well everything looked good till i got to my passenger side fender and found a rather lenghty key mark and a bent antenna. After i seen that i flipped out and wanted kill somebody but no one was around. So I hate people and i will never drive my car into another parking lot again. I can not believe people have the balls to key someone elses car. I went go and talk to campus police and they said they could not do anything about but a police report like good that will do me. I have no idea who did this and no i dont have enemy's i just think it was some drunk loser who thought it would funny to key my car.:nonono:

My friend just had his 5.0L painted. Anyways after he got out of a movie to get back to his car the entire car had been keyed. NICE F***IN 5.0L was keyed into the hood and roof. He had just forked out the dough for the new paint job. To bad someone didn't do that before he painted it.

That sucks with a new paint job. Thats i am not that angry because it could alot worse on my car. It just makes me angry i try to take care of the car so much that someone gets the wrong impression that im some sort of rich punk with sports car. I mean its 2000 GT with 35,000miles so its not like its brand new just well taken care of.

Look for a 82 toyota corolla or some shi7can car. It's probably someone who is jealous and they themselves don't have shi7. It's people with that mentality that will likely never have anything that nice and only way to make themselves feel better is destroy a nice ride in a cowardly way when no one is around.

That's another reason why people who own a Mustang should never put thousands of dollars into expensive paint jobs on their cars. And this is just another reason why I don't take my own Mustangs to places like theater and shopping mall parking lots. Spending $2,000 or $3,000 to $5,000 for a paint job on a Mustang is NOT worth it, period. It's ridiculous. At some point in time the car is going to get dinged, scraped or keyed by some degenerate. So, what is your friend going to do now after his car was all keyed? If I were your friend, I would take it to a Maaco this second time around and have them repaint it for under $1,000 and it will look just as good as new again.

After 5 years of ownership, my 02 Mustang V6 was hit while it was parked by a bunch of illegal Equadorians who live in my neighborhood. After something like this happens, your car is not the same ever again. I got my car fixed, but it has a gap problem with the headlight unit and the front fender and there's orange peel on the bottom part of the front bumper. Right now, I have to wait to see if I can save up a few hundred dollars and bring it to a Maaco to get the front bumper taken and sanded down and repainted again. They also have to adjust the header headlight panel which I think is the cause of the gap problem. But in no way am I going to spend thousands of dollars to repaint my Mustang. It's not worth it. A good high quality $800 to $1,000 paint job from Maaco is a lot better than spending $2,000, $3,000 and $5,000 for a paint job and then getting your car keyed. At least with a $800 to $1,000 Maaco paint job, you can repaint the car again for under $1,000 if you had to if it ever got keyed. That's just my .02 cents though. I don't believe in throwing away my money at for a piece of metal which only depreciates and loses value and which will eventually rust out and/or need major repairs when it reaches high miles. A car is nothing but a money pit from the first day that you own it.

All cars are money pits, but that doesnt mean they should look like sh-t. Your car probably has that gap & orange peel problem because you trusted Maaco to do the work. I pay too much money for my car for it to wear a $800 Maaco paint job. Dont tell me a Maaco paint job is gonna look as good as a $5,000 paint job from a"REAL" body shop. U get what u pay 4. I used to deliver auto parts, & I delivered to Maaco once. There paint jobs look like SH-T!!! It looked like they painted right over bugs, scratches, dirt & whatever else was on the car. It defined the term orange peel. & not to mention it starts chipping, peeling, & fading after a year or so. So maybe a disposable, V6 stang isnt worth a high dollar paint job, but too me, any Mustang with a V8 is worthy of a high quality paint job.

Yeah I had the same kind of thing happen last September. I just waxed my car and then went to the store to pick up some stuff, when I came back out there was a nice big key mark all the way across the driver’s door. Just got it repainted a few weeks back and it was $580 to get the door done. It’s like I can't enjoy where I go because I always think something is going to happen to my car.

I wish people would realize that we dont drive ferraris or lamborghinis around we drive Mustangs for crying out loud. I mean im not dissin Stangs its just that people think its hilarious to mess with a car that they know special to us. I mean people like us we like to take care of our cars people cant respect that because there to stupid to realize how jealous they are and think we are rich people or somethin. Wen all we do is just take of the car and make look nicer by adding mods becuz its hobby. But i think i might know who keyed my tho....Yup i bet it was some guy drivin V6 Camaro....LOL

I feel your pain, some dumb**** from a party a few weeks ago threw some **** at my car and caused a big hole in my rear bumper... $500 deductable down the drain...insurance covered it, but since they had no suspects, I had to pay the deductable.

thats the stupidest thing i have ever heard. i payed 3k for my paintjob, and the only dings and dents are the ones i put there. my car is a daily driver, i take it everywhere and nobody touches it. hell, i dont even have a alarm for it, im just waiting for someone to gaffle my mach460 pos thats worth 400$+ at ford so i can get a better deck. hell, or they can steal the entire car, then ill just go buy another cobra.

btw, as far as paint jobs go, you get what you pay for. as far as maaco goes, youre better off doing it yourself with a rattlecan, it will come out better. even their upper level jobs are crap and rushed. like i said, i payed 3k for my paintjob from a independent shop and its still not that great, but like i talk to most people who have insane aftermarket paint jobs, they throw 8k easily into their paint job. then again, the crappiest paint job i could do/buy would still be 100x better than the stock paint job that was on the car when i bought it, that wasnt taken care of from the previous owner, so anything was better than that. its sad when black is so faded and scratched/swirled its gray.

then its just a car to you. for the rest of us, its a extension of ourselves, a hobby and for some, cars are our life. it loses value, yes, we know, however in our eyes, it gains value everytime we drive it. Not all cars are money pits, modding a car does not mean its a money pit, it means its a hobby, a money pit is a car that breaks down constantly for no reason whatsoever other than it hates life.
