Hood shake at 70+

Mine doesn't. I've been triple digits a few times and paid attention to the scoop and it stays pretty solid at speed.

Have you checked out the latch or hood hinges and see if they are loose?? is it a side to side shake or an up and down shake?

mines alwasy done it...

its a fiberglass hood and theres a big hole in the front for air to get it so it doesnt surprise me... im sure that one day its gonna come up... i always notice it when im rolling at abotu 80mph... if im tired or not paying attention it scares me then i realize that its just the hood doing its flexy thing....

Yea Mine also does this!!! 2000 GT with stock hood! I don't know what the hell it is

Mine does it as well and it is driving me crazy.
2003 GT with stock hood.
The passenger side shakes up and down when going over bumps or driving fast.
From the drivers seat it looks like a ripple effect.

I have played with the latch, bumpers and even the postion of the hinges a little bit with no luck.

Also, when the hood is closed, if you try to pull up on the drivers side, it is VERY tight where as the passenger side flexes a little bit.

Everything is straight, no collision repairs or anything.

I drove by a dealer the other day and yanked on some hoods and some of them were like mine, others were dead stone tight on both sides so I know it can be done.

Any ideas on how to properly adjust the hood, latch and bumper assemblies?

Tia..

Mine has always done it, but i've never had any problems with the latch or anything. Its always really secure, so I don't seem to mind

It even shakes when the car is idling.. but that could be attributed to the cams :D

Guys, try this out...
Pop your hood, and look for the two screws with rubber knobs on the top. They are hood adjusters that you can raise up and down to help align your hood. Located to the left and right of your radiator tank.
A few weeks ago, I got sick and tired of my hood rubbing up against the top part of my Vortech. I raised these rubber tipped screw adjusters with my bare hands and now my hood shuts good without hitting the blower. Ford had them screwed all the way down which might be creating up and down play with your hoods.
This might be a cheap and easy fix for you.
