Is this a good torque converter

I need to put a stall converter in my transmission in my '92 Mustang.
Its got a stock AOD right now and Im assuming a lockup converter.

I found this converter which is in the range I want (and got a custom ground cam spec'd for)-2800-3200 rpm.

Is it worth buying?
Im on a but of a budget for this build right now.

Never heard of them. Be safe and buy a good one! PI is the best but there 700 beans. Edge makes a real good one for alot less. When it comes to converters you get what you pay for. And please,,,,, stay away from B&M!!!

A torque converter is not something you want to go budget on. In order of preference, it would be best to go with Emerald, Edge, and other top notch converter builders who build specifically to your needs. After them, but typically not a good idea, would be TCI, B&M, and other off-the-shelf converters. Most people who know a thing or two about Automatics will tell you to stay miles away from B&M and TCI converters, and I would take one of those over this no name Boss Hog ebay converter.

If you are going to buy a TC you really need to talk to a company that custom builds them for your specific car. Details like the wieght gear ratio and engine mods really need to be considered when getting a High Stall TC.

He is 100% correct. You need to have the converter built to you combo needs. They may list a off the shelf converter at 2800 to 3200 stall but that doesn't mean it will stall at that rpm on your combo. The same converter will act different on two different cars.

Don't waste your time and money, buying or installing anything other than a Lentech converter. They are the best in the bizz when it comes to the ford AOD.

I had an off-brand Ebay converter in my AOD and it SUCKED!!, didnt notice any difference from stock. It was rated at 2800, but didnt come anywhere near it.

I now have a Street Edge converter from Edge converters www.edgeracingconverters.com rated at 3200 and it does every bit of it. Much happier.

The mild street edge is about 100.00 more than that ebay converter and will be much better quality. Or you could save a few more dollars and get the regular street edge for 495.00 and have it configured to what ever you want.

I wouldnt spend the money on the one your looking at though.

You can order from Edge on line, but if you call there, you should speak with Andre. Very nice guy who will take time out to talk to you and not make you feel rushed.

+1 for Edge. Im running a Street Edge and it was the best $545.00 (shipping included) that I have invested into my fox by far. Andre from Edge is a top notch guy and will set you up with everything you need. Just give him the specs. Had mine custom built and to my door in a week and a half, never looked back.
