i had an integra and i'm 6'4". It was way too low to bend down and too little room unless i tilted the seat way back and slid it back so I was sitting in the rear of the car. Was ridiculous. plus it was an auto.
The 5 speeds actually are much better on gas.
If you want a gutless car that cant make it up hills go with an auto. If you want a car that can get out of its own way get a 5 speed.
BTW, Ive worked on enough Cavaliers and Sunfires to know theyre horrible pieces of crap, just like most other GM cars.
+1 I think if you're going to get one of those little coke cans it has to be a 5 speed. I'm much too tall for one either way.
Civic aughta do what you want it for just fine. I have a Corolla, 40 mpg, 5 speed, 244K on the clock, 56 miles each way to work, miles I don't wanna put on a car I give a flying f... about. What do people think of a 40 year old driving a piece like this? As though I gave a rats ass, right? Its there so you can spend your money elsewhere. Exhaust, brakes and tires all this 100+ mile a day car cost me. The Civic'll do the same thing. Congrats, you got a ricer!
i drive a dohc 5 speed neon everyday. i wouldn't have it any other way. my real car is in a safe place...the garage. on the weekends it is fun time, but uh oh i'm doing a rebuild right now!
i never said it didn't leak oil or coolant, mine is real tired. anyway, a 4 banger can be a lot of fun if its a stick. you feel yourself rowing through the gears playing racecar and having fun. look down your only going 5 over.

I'd rather pay more at the pump and drive a decent car than drive some POS econobox. Driving a Civic or even riding in one is just downright embarassing and IMO you can't put a price on dignity.
It's kind of ironic that many people would even consider driving the antithesis of the Mustang.
Good luck with your POS
BTW you are not saving any money by buying a second car no matter how fuel efficient it is.

Grow the **** up.
My friend has a 94 Civic and runs the **** out of it. Has 240k miles and still runs like a champ lol. I'll probably get one in the future.

A 97 with that amount of miles is going to start alot of problems. Once you start driving it everything is going to mess up on you. Heres the think about it part, Once you add up the price of car, insurance, small repairs, gas, and title change plus you will be keeping up your mustang I assume. All of that is going to cost more than the gas your using while driving your mustang. But I don't meen to discourage you. Good Luck
lol no you can't, but let's just say dignity's on vaca right now:
4 wheels, 3 of them un-bent, and enough faux woodgrain and blue cloth to last a man 2 lifetimes. you think driving a beater is bad, try driving........a LUMINA!
