Thinking about getting a civic

  • Sponsors (?)

fellas, if you really love your car it would not be your daily driver. a daily driver is a mule.
most accidents or stupid stuff happens during rush hours or foul weather days.

also, as far as saving money. it is cheaper here in michigan to insure 2 cars than 1. there is a huge 2 car discount. yes it is stupid but i don't make the rules.

Yes, I would rather pay the extra money if it meant driving a nice car to school everyday.

I agree 100%. I tried the beater thing and to a point it was kind of nice having a car I didn't give a damn about and not putting miles on my mustang BUT driving it sucked, it was embarrassing and personally, driving an girly economy car, your driving a girly econocar and you know it.

I drive my Silvarado and I think it's laughable when people think they have something better because they get better mpg, :rlaugh:

The bottom line is I'm not cheap. I look at the value of things. Going 30 miles on one gallon of gas in a civic is a waste of gas to me. My silverado averages 20-24mpg and is gas well burnt. Lets not even get into saftey and abilities of the truck.

edit/add: Working in autoshops for years, I am yet to see a car that doesn't break.

if the stang was my only car, how could i get anythig done to it? we have always talked about rebuilding a motor, but there is never enough time. you cant do things like this because you are on a time schedule to get it back on the road

you can call me girly or whatever you want to, but in the end ill have a lot of extra $$ and a nice mustang

As for not having enough time which is more important ?

1) Not having time to fix the stang.

or

2) Not having money to fix the stang because all of it was spent fixing up the POS.

BTW I go to College as well and I can find plenty of time to work on my cars during the long Spring and Summer breaks.

Ok:
1) I see that you have 2 (two) cars, not one like me

2) Honda is known for two things, RELIABILITY & gas mileage. So how do you figure this car is going to be in the shop all the time??? These cars easily go 200k with just a little bit of respect (aka oil change)

3) Like I said earlier, my mom is paying for the payments after the summer as it as a late graduation present....so i may have $600 in car payments when its all said and done. Pretty much I don't see how a car getting 33-35mpg with little maintenance is going to make me go broke
