2nd Gear burnout

Cannot be seen from me. Don't worry, I'd laugh at myself too.

The other day I attempted my first 2nd gear burnout in my 04 GT, only resulted in shutdown, litterally, the car stalled. I dumped the clutch from 5000 Rs and the car just bogged down and stalled (traction control was off). Car doesn't have much done, just CAI and catback. Can these cars do 2ng gear burnouts in basically stock form? No need to make fun, i've been beatin myself up.

It really sounds like the traction control was on to me. But I believe you. My next thought was are you sure you were in 2nd and not 4th?

Do you have gears? I'd think not try a 2nd gear burnout without gears

That was my first though.....not the stupid part, but the fact that you might have been in 4th.

My car is slower than your average stock mustang (WTB used driver mod for cheap, PM me......), with fatter-, stickier-than-stock tires, and it spins em to no end in 2nd.

You were probably in 4th. Go try again.

I know these things happen. When I was teaching my wife to drive a standard she kept stalling. I asked her to push the clutch and i will put it in first for you. Well I kept putting it in 3rd and well 1 month later I was replacing my clutch.

They can be done, you just have to find the tricks to it.

I cut a donut one night, and after it had whipped around I popped into 2nd very fast... the car literally sat there dead still and burned the tires down untill it started moving again and I did an enourmous rolling 2nd gear burnout... this is with 315's out back and was not even wide open throttle.

thats what a waterbox is for. helps to get the tires spinning that could be why she didnt spin in 2nd. get a little bit on water on those back tires and then you can move to a dry spot and they should spin.

but it still should spin them even without the water its possible that it was in 4th

My '03 has no problem lightin 'em up in 2nd.

i have 4.30's....i've done 3rd before .....3.73's are going on this weekend though.
