Question about air deflector and rad support.

Hey guys. My car isn't cooling like it should on the highway, and I checked posts and found out about the air deflector that sits right under the rad support. I dont have one currently on my car, and I guess that might be the problem? I found them on 50resto.com but it appears like they dont come with hardware. Has anyone boughtt one from them? If it doesn't come with the hardware, what am I looking for, and where can I get it? The only real problem I have though, is that I think my rad support is bent, and im not sure if it will still fit on. It kinda looks like this on the bottom:

I have no idea how it happend, but it's like a 3-4 inch wide section that is bent upwards right in the center of the bottom section. Has anyone ever replaced their rad support? If so how hard is it? Im not afraid to take the front bumper off, as I have to get it repainted anyways.

I would have to look at it, but I think it just attaches with the plastic push pins that you can get at any auto parts store. Same kinda thing that holds the interior body pieces on.

I took them off of both my cars years ago and have noticed no ill effects.

And yeah, you definitely need the deflector; It will cause problems.

I would just get the piece, and figure out how you want to mount it. Expansion rivets would probably work perfectly.

i havent had my deflector on for a couple of years now... it hasn't caused me any problems. No excessive temperatures on the highway, etc.

I found that it made a difference when Scott and I started to melt (actually, in ambient temps over about 100*F), I found it made a difference.

FWIW, my car didnt come with the deflector and I simply used some little bolts and nylocks to secure it. I scrape the thing on steep parking lot drives and I like having the fasteners (I'd have likely sheared off push pins by now).

I also did kind of a custom one on my fox - it's bigger than the OEM deflector. It also helped (just a suggestion that again, in my experience, the deflector does help).

I believe it depends on where you live and how warm it gets in the summer plus how hard you drive it. There are three on the 94/95's, left, right and center. The left and right ones run around $35.00 and the center ine is harder to come by. Where I bought two doesn't have any left and was told when I ordered one they wouldn't be getting any more, he wasn't sure why but he thought they stopped making them.

I tried to replace the radiator support on mine. I worked on it for about 3 days, cutting all the spot welds out, taking fenders and stuff off. I finally got fed up with it and took it to a body shop and they finished removing it and reinstalling it for me for $500. Biggest PIA I have ever tried on my car. Mine was bent from a tow truck not knowing how to tow a unibody car.

I think thats maybe what happend to mine. I know it wasnt like that last year, but my car has been towed a few times durring my engine swap.

It really doesn't look that bad, other then the rust
Should I go and get this replaced, or just forget about it? What adverse effects could this have on my stang??

Yep, sucky a** not knowing how to tow, tow truck driver. Mine was also pulled forward. It could have some of your front end out of square causing tires to go bad or little things like that. Not good but not so bad. If you leave it like that, at least go and get it aligned if you haven't.
