Supercharger Kit For an FE??

I have been looking around and can not seem to find any centrifugal superchager kits that are available for a big block FE. I have seen some BBC kits available but no BBFs. Does anyone know of any custom kits that are made anywhere? Any help would be appreciated.

I've never seen any myself. To be honest, the only difference between most of these kits is the SC mounting brackets. You will probably have to take the car/engine to someone who can build you a set of custom brackets.

427FE Pulley system and super charger brackets made by Concept One: (Cheesy blue hose is only temporary)

You have to call them and ask about the Super Charger "Eleanor " kit.

Jay Brown on the FordFE.com forum has a Procharger on a FE.

Jay won the 2005 Hot Rod Drag Week in the BB N/A catagory with his '69 Mach I.
He was supposed to do the Procharged FE but all the kinks weren't worked out.

Jay then won the 2006 Hot Rod Drag Week in the SB P/A catagory with his 2005 Ford GT. Again, he had made some changes and the engine wasn't done.

I don't know what Jay is entering this year but he has had a SOHC 427 Cammer FE (I don't know how else to say it's a 40+ year old engine and not a late model stroker or a mod motor) on the engine dyno in the chicken coop in his barn. He has been testing intakes on 428's and done exhaust manifold/header tests on the 428 engine as well.

Most of the books out there on the FE have a lot of bad information in them. The FordFE.com site is the most definative site you can find info for the FE. We're hoping that in the next couple of years Jay Brown and Dave Shoe (Schouweiler) will write a book on the FE.

LOL!! Re-read my 4th paragraph.

Yes, he does indeed have his own dyno. Jay is an electrical engineer, he's very technical, but can dumb it down enough for most of the rest of us to understand. If you search 'dyno' or 'results' on the forum, you'll find a ton of threads on his intake and exhaust tests.

67Fback in terms of cost what is a rough estimate to get my 390 supercharged?

That is an open ended question. S/C can be done for about $2500-$3500. But....

you really should have a tight (new parts) engine to handle the increased stress on all the components. Also, a lower compression ration (preferably 8.5:1 maybe a little more, I am not the guru). But you start putting more than 12-16 lbs boost, you have to start changing timing, fuel etc etc etc

even a lower boost levels like 7-10 psi, colder plugs, timing should be retarded a bit, boost retard,a cam with a wider LS(114+) and fuel pump capable of stock fuel pressure plus 1psi for every 1lb of boost. My pump is capable of 45 psi and 360 GPH as well as -10(1/2") line to the carb. All the "small" stuff can nickle and dime you to death:nonono:

You are not kidding about the nickel & dime!

I added the boost referenced pressure regulator. My timing is set at 38 degrees, and I am using the MSD 7530T to retard the timing 1 degree per pound of boost. I have a Ricks Automotive 22 gal tank with an Aeromotive 1000 in tank fuel pump.

And don't forget, HP=heat. So you might add an oil cooler, bigger radiator, stronger fans, after cooler and a cold air intake (from anywhere not in the engine bay).

HP costs $$$$$. How much HP do you want?
