Great buy, works with my flowmasters very well The only problem was in the install, took 5+ because the passenger side lower header bolt was completely frozen and had to be torched right off, and then we had to rig up another bolt in its place Only $133 with no shipping from http://www.lmperformance.com/4568/50.html , also should mention it was a very good fit. i just got the o/r h pipe installed today and i left my stock mufflers on and she sounds nice...got that and a tune really woke my car up!!!!!!

That same bolt for me was the most stubborn bolt I've ever dealt with. It took a couple tries with the impact wrench after stuggling with hand tools for a while.

Sounds like the same thing my car had happen to it with the Prochamber install. Took the shop 8 hours to do it on the lift, I can only imagine how long it would have taken us with it on jacks in the driveway.

I don't feel so bad anymore. When I installed my mac o/r h, I sheared off the driver side stud. Spitfirees, how did you "rig up another bolt"? I still have only one stud holding on the driver's side, and it leaks like a mofo.

We took the torch and melted out the old bolt, creating a hole roughly the same size as the stud that was in there. Then we took a bolt, put it through the back of the hole, and treated it like a stud. The one thing we did on the back was use a locking washer and rough up the inside of bolt a little so it would hold long enough for the impact gun to tighten it up. Hope that makes sense

rofl, you bet it leaks. How the hell do you drive that car? Prob. sounds like ass+smells like ****.


and o/r pipes own. Its not even a PITA like alot of people said B/C once you get under there more than 3 times undoing and redoing it looking for leaks you get the hang of it and can do it alot faster the 4th, 5th or 6th time.

I have the car on jackstands in my garage and I can't get any of the damn studs off. I tried so hard that I broke an 18mm socket I still can't get it off....doesn't seem like there is room to get an impact in there

some people recommend a breaker bar.


Spray the nuts down with pb blaster and let it sit for like 30 minutes.. than try.

yeah i put some pb blaster on there, i was using a 3/8" breaker bar but I can try the 1/2"...I need to get a 1/2" socket to fit

A breaker bar only works to an extent, then... well... you're screwed. If you can't get it, there are two things you can do: 1) get a torch and melt it off, or 2) take it to an exhaust shop. These midpipes can be a real b****

If its stock system than youll need a torch on a 98GT. My buddy used a torch on my head bolts and everything came loose after heating them up to an amber color. After you get all installed and later down the road than pb blaster or wd40 and alot of strength+swearing should break it loose..

With flows, that's an awesome sound. Just too much of a fume smell for my taste.

You really need PB Blaster, or a penetrating oil. WD-40 is more of a solvent, and won't sit there and creep in to the places you need it.
