bassani midlengths

i found a brand new set for $450 shipped. are the decent headers? i know i can drop the trans with them which is a big plus. do i have to run a bassani midpipe?

anyone who has then please chime in and let me know if you would recomend them

i cant give away my source should i jump on it? i'm looking for headers for my new engine. i really just dont wanna spend $350 for a bassani O/R xpipe. i wish i could use something cheaper!

I've already got the Bassani catted X so I would'nt have to change a thing as far as midpipe. Those headers are $650 and more from places I've seen.

yeah you should get them, I wish I had gotten them now...the install will be much easier with individual primaries

They should mate up with the factory mid pipe. my bassani x pipe mated up exactly with my stock manifolds. Wouldnt think it would be any differant. Pretty sure bassani only makes the 1 set of headers for our cars and there all coated. Had a set in my possesion at one time but i lived in an apartment complex and needed to have them installed at a shop. The cost of the install with the minimal gains if any i would have got from my car at that time with the headers i ended up selling them .

That is a hell of a deal. They do make power and sound real nice. I made almost 40 rwhp when I had them installed with the bassani catted x-pipe and upped the boost on my 1.7 KB from 9 to 10#s.

midlength headers are just that, longer than shorties (and stock manifolds) but shorter than long-tubes

you need the bassani x to make it work

Yes you have to get Bassani's 5 piece x pipe to fit the midlengths, or you can have a shop modify a midpipe to fit it.

I am sure you can find an exhaust shop to custom make you a mid pipe with whatever size mandrel bent tubing for alot less than $350 if thats what you want.

i got mine off ebay from a guy that bought them and never used them.

i may just use my old x pipe and get it welded to teh downpipes in the new headers
