I Have an 88 gt mustang, and recently my horn has quit working and when i turn my steering wheel , the blower for the A/C or defroster will stop working till you turn the steering wheel back. also the turn signals stop working, and all kind of lights flash on the dash, like low fuel, brake, check engine. and all goes away or comes by turning the steering wheel.

I am just curious to whether anyone else has ran into this problem before i start taking things apart.. and wouldnt you know it in like a month the car has to go though inspection got to love DE laws... so any idea let me know....

thanks

Jason, the ignition switch is a place to start, especially if your column is otherwise tight. The switch was a recall item and only takes a few mins and 10-20 bucks to replace.

Good luck.

Also check the main wiring harness inside the column, next to the ignition. Mine was loose even when connected. I sporadically had power to the car when trying to start it. I held the wiring harness together and zip-tied it, problem solved. Good luck.
