Hi everyone,

I've seen a bunch of threads on here pertaining to a rattle that sounds like marbles in a tin can and starts around 2-3k rpms. I thought it was the cats at first and so did the dealer so they replaced the entire mid pipe, however the rattle was still there.

If finally pissed me off enough that I was determined to fix it last night. It turns out it was the 1/8" plate that sits between the engine and transmission bell housing. Eventhought the bolts were tight holding the two together the plate still had just enough room to rattle. I was able to stuff 2 small pieces of gasket material in and the problem is solved. No more listening to that annoying rattle whenever driving next to buildings or other cars. This may not be your problem but thought this might just give others another thing to check when hunting this down.

I'll get some pics either tonight up tomorrow when I get home. Once you see those you'll immediately see what I am talking about. I could even make it rattle with the engine off just tapping it with a screwdriver
