off the shelf brands pail in comparison to some of the stuff you can get online for the same price. the problem with hand applying a polish is you cannot break down the polish as you can with a orbital or random action tool like the PorterCable listed above. Its an expensive package to start out with, youre looking at 2-300$ invested for the PC, Pads, Polishes/compounds, waxes, microfibers, etc. but you do it once or twice a year and thats it, standard weekly upkeep using a good washing method is all that is needed.
