Ok, I have window tint on my two front windows and have had many problems with the tint being scratched on the inside. I replaced the tint once already and now I have to do it again. The first time I replaced it I managed to temporarily fix the problem by sticking those fuzzy velcro strips on the rubber. Now the strips got so hot that the adhesive melted and ruined my tint again. I have sticky residue all over my window and also the strips are slowly peeling off because of the heat. I think that I will have to completely replace the rubber strip with a new one because the adhesive is all over it and wont come off easily. Is there any way to permanently fix this problem?

I have the EXACT same problem as you. My velcro did fine last summer, but just yesterday, I noticed sticky crap on my passenger side window. I just ordered some moleskin to replace it with. I've read people swear by it and that it will not sag and lose it's stickyness like velcro.

I just ordered mine from here about an hour ago, just click on Ford, it'll take you right to it...

Unfortunately, I don't know of a "fix" without using some type of felt strip on the window channel.

I payed about $400 to get my whole car done at a "professional" shop. They did a great job on every other window except the fronts. They didn't put a felt strip on either door and both windows were scratched to hell. Well since then I've become a tinter and redid it myself....with felt strips. Eight months later...no problems. And I live in New Mexico...Kinda hot most of the time.

Thanx for the tip. i just ordered the moleskin.

do i actually take out the strip to install the moleskin or do i just peel back the rubber and stick it on?

take it out it, the part you need to put the felt on is facing the glass, and the rubber you would pull back is the strip you will be sticking it too.

FYI I tint so I have a bunch of this stuff if anyone needs some I can cut it up into long enough pieces and sell it to you. Id have to figure out how much it would cost once I measure and cut it into the right sized pieces, but I am sure it will be cheaper as I will just charge to cover costs and shipping.

But any shop should be able to do this for you, although I can tell you that shops do overcharge for it to make profit obviously but at least here in SD most shops way over charge for it.

not sure if you guys are on mustangforums.com, but Taco Bill does "how to" posts with pictures and videos. here's a link to the moleskin installation one:

I bought a moleskin kit with those instruction included which I can't remember where I bought it from... I haven't installed it yet but it looks pretty simple and everyone seems to recommend it
