Well, I bought a new Holley carb for the mustang and i'm still devoted to it but I find myself needing a better daily driver so I bought this white bmw 325is. It has all options and decent miles. Should be fun to tinker with. Paid 6k for it. Prolly gonna change things like rims spoiler etc fairly quickly. Won't be but two days before she gets tint more'n likely, which is where I can get some clear turn signals for it. What a pity for the mustang, she wanted clear corners first. Ah well, gonna get the new carb working right and will cruise her on weekends. So much for the truck idea, the gas mileage was just sounding too bad, so I opted for the efficient little 6 cyl 5 speed powerplant in my bmw. What do you think? :SNSign:

Don't sink a bunch of money into your DD for anything other than comfort and/or practicality. That's money which could be better spent on the weekend warrior toy. :D

Nice ride, btw. :nice: I need to clean my new DD up this weekend and get around to posting pics, too...

Thanks, this one should be easy to keep clean with the white paint. At some point during my search I decided it had to be a white one. Found some m3 rims and tires for it for 450 OBO. That and some lowering springs will add to the car. I'll post more pics soon.

Nice car, but I heard the older BMWs (prior to 03-04) were prone to maintenance issues! I have no first hand experience but have been told by numerous people when I mentioned I wanted to snag a BMW!

thats a big 10-4 good buddy!

i used to work at a toyota dealership and we got alot of that generation BMW on trade...i did all the used car checks...the damn things always had all kinds of stupid stuff wrong with them...check engine lights usually meant some module went bad and it was a pricey fix. same thing with late 90's early 00's audi's

Don't forget that a set of brake calipers and/or rotors will probably set you back a pretty penny or two ... or pretty much anything for those cars, come to think of it. The friggin' trunk-mounted battery in those animals looks big enough to power a big-rig diesel, and they sure as heck ain't cheap, either.

What dim-witted parent thinks that a BMW is less sporty than a Supra? They're pretty much on the same level, as far as rich-boy snot-rocket import cars go. All the spoiled-rotten bastard children of yuppies around Scottsdale and Gilbert drive BMW's almost exclusively, and they drive like friggin' psychopaths on the Loop 202...

...umm, not that I mean any of that applies to the original poster, of course. Just the folk 'round my neck o' the woods...

Thanks for the compliments.

And yes I know there's a good chance it can have issues. I'm hoping with the relatively low mileage I make out okay.

At least we know i'll only be paying for parts, cuz i'll do any labor myself. My friend owns a 2001 323i and he did his brakes and i've done brakes on an acura integra so I think I could tackle it probably with help.

The upside will be the handling and the fun to drive factor. :D That i'm looking forward to. Also these cars came stock with pretty much any option.

I've got 17" m3 rims lined up for 400 bucks to pick up tomorrow with tires. I like them because they're better looking but not too flashy, nice and OEM. They have like 40% tread so i'll have to replace them at some point. They came off a m3 which is rear wheel drive so I guess he liked toasting em back there.

Also i'm hopefully on the verge of finding a nice m3 body kit. I'm thinking polyurethane preferrably over fiberglass. Should be easy to match to the white paint of the car. Anyone with ideas on where to find a kit would be appreciated. Looking for 500 range. I want one of the little lip spoilers for the rear deck and a diffuser below the front and rear bumper covers. Probably will also get a little lip spoiler for the roof. The windows are now tinted, nice and dark. So yeah, I wanna paint to match the car on all these parts. Looks like i'll be spending several thousand this week.

Did I mention I broke down and bought the clear 6 pc. headlights for the mustang? ;) Friggin ebay beckoned. While I was there I stumbled on 2" lowering springs for the bmw and they got ordered. :p If i'm not careful I could trip and fall and order a set of lowering springs for the mustang. God help me if I step foot in a car audio store.

Anyone with mod ideas? I haven't even spoken of the dirty thoughts i've had for the bmw exhaust.

These are rim choices in my area I need to decide by tomorrow which to get. There's 4 different sets all in the 400-500 range. Most comes with tires. I wonder how much a set of tires will be for 17's. I think they're x8.5 rims.

Lol fbd I actually was leaning toward a tahoe more recently and then I started thinking about the gas going to be 4 dollars so......and the stang stays and has the new carb and 6 pc clears and the BMW well...I got a little carried away today and bought a Borla Catback exhaust system for it, will be here in 1-3 days 600 bucks. Still working on the rims/tires, hopefully within the weekend will make a deal on some. I bought these lights on ebay called Angel eyes, they make them for bmw's and they have these halo rings that go around each headlight. I bought the kit that is plug and play, comes with the headlight unit that has a high and low beam lamp in each one and each lamp has an angel eye halo ring that lights up, best part is NO wiring, just two plugs that go to factory harness. So much better than trying to dissect these headlights which are slightly hazed and try and install halos and do the wiring mess. Also got clear turn signals for the BMW on ebay. Can't wait to install and take pics, should look clean on a white car. I'm gonna wait on the m3 kit, since i'm buying all this other stuff. Especially cuz tomorrow i'm gonna find a CAI kit and start hunting down a perf. chip. Also anyone know what's the best satellite radio nowadays? Thanks for any help with that.

Oh and I installed the first mod today! , new tan floor mat set front/back. 11.99 at auto zone and they blend with the interior nicely. Only thing is the driver one likes to bunch up under the pedals so I don't really use it, need to make it non skid somehow, it's from all the shifty driving lol.

Here's a pic of the headlight kit for the bmw and the clear corners. A dangerous thing happened, I thought of getting m3 taillights. =/ Still have to look into the price on them, I won't even get into how much i've spent on all the parts lately, prolly close to what I spent on the floor mats minus the decimal lol, n still going!
