issue when car gets hot....

hey guys im having a huge issuewith my ca when it gets hot and have no clue as to what it is. As soon as the car gets up to operating temp it begins to surge really bad at idle and often cuts off. it will also be very sluggish until it hits the higher rpm's. i wish i had a better way to describe it but i have been chasing this issue for quite some time now....any input woud be greatly appreciated!

Is that ... for quite some time now with all those mods
or
Just some of those mods
or
Something that just started but since no changes at all

I see no chip or interface so are we talking about stock pcm

yes stock pcm...the car has always done it and for some reason since i did my new hci setup this winter it starts to do it alot sooner than before. Im assuming the aluminum heads/intake get hotter alot faster and cause the issue.

I too would be looking for a trouble code.

Particularly one related to a bad ECT (engine coolant temperature) sensor, since your troubles all seem to be related to engine temperature.

If you find it surprising that kind of thing happens more so after h/c/i ..........

You can find a good bit of info right here on this very site that shows you are not alone with those issues.

We lump them all into a category we call ... poor drivability.

You first will wanna do things like ensure........

all sensors are functioning correctly
the maf hot element wires are clean
you got no v leaks
you got no faulty electrical connections
isc is working correctly
you are not throwing any codes

If all that stuff is good ...

You may need a tune
