Just curious what would be best to go with for a daily driver 07gt 5speed.

My drag radials are 275/50R17 M&H Drag Radials

I don't really have any mods on the car now beside mufflers, the car has 3:55's from factory.

The tires are def taller than the stock at least over an Inch, which i believe is effecting my time at the track.. I'm running only a little faster at the track than with the street tires if not around the same speed.

I'm thinking 4:10's or bigger will help in this due to my radial size.

Keep in mind Future mods would be a Tune and CAI.

The car is a daily driver.

What do you suggest for gears for the type of setup?

I've been told 4:30's would work great but i fear they may not be so great for daily usage.

Would 4:10's be enough to give me the bang im looking for in my 5spd stang w/ 275 radials and some day a tune and CAI..

anyone know how much ford dealers charge for gears + install? for either 4:10's or 4:30's?

If you get the gears at a ford service dept. they'll cost around $250, the labor prices I'm unfamiliar with at the dealerships as I went with an offsite shop for my install and tune modifications, I paid $200.

main reason i would do it w/ ford is becuz they already gave me a hard time about my car and all it has is flowmaster mufflers and a freakin line-loc kit and they seriously we're being dicks about doing any time of service for me they threated to void my warrenity.

its brand new w/ like 2400 miles so i dont really want to get screwed over.

of course **** is more expensive but id be able to sleep better.

and again yes a tune and cai would be nice but its more money again and the whole warrenity issue, yes i see ford now warrenities a tune and cai by the dealer and doesnt f up ur car warrenity.

p.s i cant spell good

You need to find a new dealer. There are mod friendly dealers out there you need to find one. If they are giving you trouble over what you have now it wouldn’t make any difference if they installed the gears they would still void you drive train warranty.

4.10's are great, but 1st gear's a bit short. With your tire size 4.10's would be perfect for a daily driver. FRPP gears only. Legally no dealer can void your warranty unless they can prove an individual or multiple modifications caused a failure. Even then they can't void the entire warranty. For example, if you put lower control arms on the rear end of the car they won't have to honor the warranty on a suspension noise, but they have to give warranty on a bad window motor or switch. If you have a blower they could claim that's why you may have blown a rear or clutch. They have to show that the mods could have caused the failure.

Why do people always say "use frpp 4.10 gears"? Is there something wrong with motive gears? I have some coming to me but are on back order. If there is good reason not to get the motive gears I'll cancel the order and get the ford racing gears.

Several have had noise complaints with using the Motive Gears. However, if the install is done correctly and they use friction modifier, you should be totaly fine with the Motives. Do not fret.
