First time at track with the new combo, please help

Yes the car does have the PI intake, heads, and cams. I thought lack of power too seeing how low the trap speed was, but when I put the weight (3505lbs with me and 7/8 full tank) and trap speed (rounded to 96 mph) in an online calculator (i know they are FAR from perfect) it came up with 247 rwhp or 291 fwp, which seems about right for the modifications I have. I didnt get to run again yesterday, it rained out. So now I am forced to wait until next wednesday. I am going to swap the ford racing plug wires from my convertible onto the coupe and see if that makes any difference I am also going to check the plugs and gaps and run another compression test to make sure everthing looks ok. My nearly stock 96 convertible trapped 90-91 on a good day so I was extremely disappointed when my more heavily modified coupe only trapped 4-5mph more. Should I try bumping the timing on the tuner? I cant figure out what would be causing the lack of power, the car feels strong. Any help is appreciated.

Wow that calculator seems way low, is it a mistype that it says flywheel hp instead of rwhp? According to that my vert only made 200 flywheel horsepower with a stock npi egine and offroad midpipe. I tried using two other online calculators:
http://www.tunercalcs.com/hp-from-quarter-mile-trap-speed.html
and
http://www.rpmoutlet.com/dyno.htm
I understand that these are for entertainment purposes only and in no way substitute a real chassis dyno, I was just using them to see if the hp numbers seemed even close to correct, and mid 240's for rwhp would seem about correct. Like I mentioned earlier I am going to swap plug wires, check and regap the plugs and do a compression test then sit and wait till next wednesday try altering my shifting some and hope for the best. I still havent decided on messing with the timing or not yet.

Well, if it makes you feel any better with my old stang (2000 gt) I ran a 14.3 @ 97 bone stock. I then added full exhaust and cams (w/ other bolt ons) w/ sticker tires and ran a 14.5 @99

something was either seriously wrong with the car or I suck at driving... we will find out as soon as i can get a chance to go to the track!!

Don't rely on those calculators man - just gonna make you more depressed when you dont hit the numbers they suggest you will...I doubt there's many (honest) people who have ever hit the times those things propose - I know I sure as hell haven't...

Practice your launch - give 'em a good burn in the box and focus on getting through 1st w/o spinning or bogging...I bet you'll be under 2 flat for the 60 in no time, and the 2 tenths you'll save off the line is worth more than that in ET...

on another note, the 3rd thursday of every month is Ford Motorsport Enthusiest (FME) night @ Milan (even though they dont list it on their schedule) - $40 all you can run, and the crowds are a helluva lot smaller than at your typical test n tune...might give you a good chance to get some more runs in.

A 5 speed mustang that has a total weight with driver of 3505 that has 242 rwhp should run in the 13.35 to 13.45 range at about 101.5 MPH. Let me add that would be with a 1.9 or better 60 foot.

Lol I understand all that, I was hoping to run in the high 13's, I had a 2.2 60 foot so thats .3 worse then your approximation which would equal roughly 6 tenths on the big end which puts me around a 14.0-14.2ish. I'm not trying to argue with you at all I'm sure you know far more then I do on the subject.
I was just approximating a stock 01+ gt 5-speed typically dynos around 230 rwhp i figured longtube headers and an offroad x and a sct tune from mph would net me at least 10 rwhp, but thats all speculation. When I go and put the weight and trap speed in the calculators I have seen online i get anywhere from 240-245 rwhp which would be about where my guess was. Now that being said. It also said that a 3505 car trapping 95.75 should be at a 14.2 not a 14.8, so thats probably just my lousy driving lol.
My new question is has anyone ever run their stockish 01+ and only trapped 96mph? I dunno, thats what leads me to believe something is off. Thanks for all the help thus far. I cant wait till I get to try again, its alot of fun.
