I have a 89 2.3L. The cooling fan and a/c clutch arent working. I noticed that there the same circuit but the fuse is good. What else might be bad?

Ok so today i jumped the fan straight to the battery. The wires in a matter of a sec hot so hot i couldnt hold it and the fan spun really slow. Can i buy a new motor for it or have to replave the complete fan? If so how much.
Also on the a/c. I tested the low pressure switch and it has continewity(sp) i put a volt meter on the plug that it goes into the switch and it reads from 5.5v to 10.5V is this right? I tried jumping it the best i could i think i was able to (really didnt have the best tools) and the cluth still didnt engage. I pushed the shader vavle on both lines for a sec and it has pressure but only air came out no gas. Any help would be great, thanks

I would go to the autowreakers and get a fan from a stang.....or upgrade to a Taurus cooling fan.
