ive been browsing these boards for years and never really post but im about to scream cuz i cant get this thing to start. so ive been fighting with this thing for about 2 weeks now trying to get it to start... so heres the deal:

ignition module good
new distributor
new PCM
coil checked out good
car is getting fuel just no spark
have power to the ignition module, coil, and distributor
grounds are good for the distributor and ignition module

so ive ran it through some tests with a DVOM and a test light and i keep coming up with the same thing that the hall effect switch is bad because im not getting a PIP signal coming from the distributor. ive returned 3 distributors and im now on my 4th and im highly doubtful that all these distributors are bad.

so just for the sheer fact that i am giving up cuz i at this point have no idea what the problem is, is there anybody on this board that has any idea what it could be?

What's missing? Spark? Injector pulsing?

fuel is fine its just not getting spark... ive checked everything the coil ohmed out fine and is getting voltage, the ignition module is getting voltage and the ground ohmed out just fine. the only thing im not getting is a PIP signal from the stator inside the distributor. ive replaced the distributor 4 times and still no PIP signal. rotor button turns when you crank it so i know the gears arent stripped out. im testing the PIP signal on the distributor side of the connector right at the distributor so i know its not the connector or any of my cars wiring. since the PIP signal originates in the distributor and the stator requires no external voltage to work i feel it has to be a bad distributor, but could i really be that unlucky and have gotten 4 bad distributors?

Any more testing feedback?

Remember, testing only for 12 volts in the ignition system isnt all that productive. The puter uses heat sink tech and sends ground pulses to actuate and energize circuits.

If you tell us if you have injector pulsing (as asked above), that will give us a big clue as to whether your PIP is working or not.

What have you done in terms of testing the PIP? Bad wiring to the PIP will mean that endless dizzy swaps yield no help.

Good luck.
