Falken fk452 's anybody??

   Has anybody had any experience with these new ties I have bought a new set of Stern St7 Wheels for the Gt and need to get some good meat on them but I dont have the 1000 to 1200 for the Bfg KDw TT . Ive heard the new Falken fk452 tires are pretty good and some say not so good. Any ideas for tires or opinions on a set that wont empty my wallet dry???

I run on Falken FK 451s (which were replaced by the FK 452s) sized at 255/45/18 front and 275/40/18 rear...

These tires are good and for the price, a great bargain...

They are good on both wet and dry pavement...

Since I don't drive the GT in snow, I have no cold weather opinions!!!

I have to disagree with the last two posts. Even without the blower on my car, I found the traction with these tires to be terrible. Handling was good, stopping traction sub par.

Let me clarify first that I am running 20" wheels not 18's. However, I recently replaced my rear Falkens with the BFG KDW's and can honestly say there is no comparison, the KDW's blow the 452's away.

20 vs 18 may make my points not of much value, but I have to believe the tire quality in general has to be similar. I'll never buy another 452 again, unless I need a set of tires to do John Force burnouts with.

That's why in my opinion and comment, I said "good tires" and not great tires!!!

A bargain, they are but I have to agree with the last post...

More expensive tires may prove a better value in the long run...

I am also running 20 inch wheels with the 452's and I believe these are a great tire for Daily Driving. I travel from Tampa to Miami Almost weekly and I've never felt a smoother ride on a 20 inch rim. I also am very pleased with the tread wear.

HOWEVER, Do not expect to hook up at the track with these tires...they are very good street tires period. I use smaller wheels and much stickier tires on the strip.

Falken 452's are a good tire for the price. They ride nice wet and dry. I'm using 255/45/17 on my 97gt. On the street they work really nice compared to the track. At the track all's I could get was a 2.1 60'. If all's your looking for is a nice DD tire they'll work good for you.

Had 451's for a year on my 06GT. 275/40/18 all around was very disappointed in traction amd noise dept. I to wanted to save a buck but in the end I changed them out with nitto's. The saying is true 90% of the time you get what you pay for.:notnice:

Nitto is comparably priced, isn't it? i wouldn't run Falken's ever again, that's just my opinion though. i tried a set a while back on another car, got 15K out of them and they started cupping really bad, and i checked tire pressure weekly, they were never underinflated. i called Falken directly, they told me i was not running enough air pressure in them and for that reason, they wouldn't warranty anything on them for me. i would stay away from Falken, i know other tires are a bit more money, but you get what you pay for i believe. i paid more for our tires than i did our wheels, but i couldn't be happier with the Nitto 555's.
