I was at Advance Autoparts last night and I was talking to the guy that works there (who despises Mustangs) about Cobras, and a guy walks in and gets in line behind me. I start talking about how the 99 Cobras had a few problems, and that they didn't produce a 2000 Cobra so that they could fix the problems, and came back with them in the US in 2001, and Australia only in 2002, and then the supercharged Terminators in 03/04.

So after the cashier walks away, he asked me, "What year did you say they didn't make the Cobra?" I replied, "2000." He said, "Yes they did, I just sold one the other day." I laughed and replied, "The only Cobra they sold in 2000 was the Cobra R. They did not produce a 4.6L Cobra that year." Then I went on to tell him about the Australian export production in 2002 of just a few Cobras. After that, he went to the other register.

I still want a 2002 Cobra :(

That is funny. I went to look at an 03 Cobra 10th anniversay for 21,500 at Sterling Dodge 3 years ago. I looked at it for 10 minutes before the salesman came out.

1. Rust under drivers side door
2. Front bumper spidered from an impact
3. Rear bumper spidered from an impact.
4. Cloudy and moistured left headlight
5. Chip in door handle
6. Chip in both mirrors
7. No floor mats.

He went on to tell me that this is a one owner car that was kept in the garage and never seen rain. I pointed out all the stuff and walked away!!

still laughing about the 2002 cobra for sale funny if im right all 300 cobras for 2000 were brought before the were built, would you sell yours if you had one??

I am guessing the word brought actually should have been bought or sold.

No, I am sure some dealers did a pre-sell, but most did their utmost to put it on the showroom floor and add a rather large ADM to it.

Funny, the 2000 Cobra R is probably the easiest one of the three that Ford built to get right now. The '93 has become the pricey one.

i heard all CobraR's were paid and accounted for before the first one even rolled off the line, and that 100 or so were only sold to actual racers that were going to use them for what theyre built for (racing)
