For anyone in this area in California beware. Yesterday afternoon someone broke into my Mustang GT and Saleen. Somehow they're targeting Mustang along with other few cars. My sister had her 05 BMW 5 Series parked in the driveway and was also broken into a few days before. They took the remote to the garage and decided to come back when no one was home and got into my garage. They tore the Saleen apart along with my mustang gt. Everything that I had recently done to the interior on both vehicles is gone. The lightning was parked on the other side of the garage and was unharmed. Somehow they tried to break into it since they scratched the key hole and handle with whatever device they were trying to use. All the gauges on the saleen where riped out and tore my whole dash. They took my BBK X-pipe along with the MAC H-Pipe that I had purchased a few months ago along with various parts that I was waiting to install. Stereo, Sub's, speakers all gone.
I contacted the police as soon as I got home and I was informed that I wasn't the only one hit. 1 block away they broke into a Mustang and a Subaru that was nicely modified. They also informed me that they believe it to be a ring of thieves targeting all these upscale neighborhoods and modified cars. They said that in the last 2-3 months there has been 31+ cases reported of thieves stealing cars and breaking into garages. What they do is they'll break a small window (if your garage door has one) and will pull the emergency cord that releases the door from the garage door motor allowing them access to the garage. The investigator that is assigned to our case told me that out of those 31 cases 19 have been mustangs. Our neighbors are really open and they tell us that they always leave their car doors unlocked and house doors unlocked because they never have seen anything like this around our neighborhood.
So I know this was a long thread but I'd rather speak up now rather than hear someone elses car gotten broken into. Spreading the word is better than staying quite. Just make sure if you guys have those emergency release cord hanging from the garage door... Just cut them so they can't reach and allow them easy access. Just keep a close eye out and the investigator also told me that they will scope the place before they hit. So if you notice someone odd in your neighborhood call the police and make it known that your not going to be that easy target. We have cameras installed all around our house which 2 cameras are pointing towards the garage and one camera towards the street. After going over the video with the investigator he noticed that the truck they used to pull all of this off had actually followed me home the day before and we see that same truck pass at least 2-3 times before they actually made the move. They got the plate number but the truck was also stolen. Hopefully with this video they can catch them and put a stop to this.
Now I have to start all over
