Has anybody tried this combo? That size in the KDWS is approximately .8" wider and 1.4" taller.

I'm looking for one slightly taller then stock, as I'm having some ground clearance issues that would be pretty well fixed by another half inch or so, and the speedo would only be off about 4 mph at 70.

With the front wheels at full lock, it looks like there is about an inch of clearance to the rear of the inner fender well at rest. I couldn't compress the wheel, but I don't think it will get any closer as the travel changes. I got the springs used and think I got closer to a 1.75" drop in the front then the advertised 1.5".

Any thoughts?

Thanks

i have 255/45 17's on my 'o2 and have no rubbing issues at all, but my car's still rocking the "Ford Motorsports 4x4 OffRoad Extreme Package" a.k.a. the stock suspension. my guess is you'll be fine

EDIT: 255/50's? holy crap that's truck tire territory, just ingore the previous statement

That's only an inch bigger in diameter then 255/45's. Surely it isn't that noticable of a difference is it?

245/45 25.7"
255/45 26.1"
255/55 27.1"

That's a pretty tall tire for any Mustang. You're just a hair over 27" in height. Very doable in the rear, since there are plenty of high horsepower guys running 27" tall slicks out back, but up front you're gonna get some rubbing I'm certain. If you want to see how they look on a Mustang wheel for perspective, take a look in My Garage. I've got a set of 255/50/17 Fuzion ZRi's all the way around on my Cougar matched to a set of 17x8 early Cobra rims.

Why do you want a 50 series tire? Surely your ground clearance can't be that bad. I have H&R SS's and 35/30's F/R and I scrape every once in a while.

Is that even considered a performance tire in that rating?

It appears to be Z rated like all the other KDWS tires.

I'm getting tired of scraping the front end going across low spots where roads intersect and driveways built on curbs without an approach cut into them.

There are also a good number of 5 or 6 inch speed bumps in parking lots around here. Get four people in there and she's not gonna clear.

Hmmm, those look a little bigger then I had imagined. I'll try to look up some pics of a 255/45 for comparison.

It just seems crazy that a 1 inch increase, half inch all the way around, would be that noticable.

Thanks

I have Steeda Sport Springs with 255x45 17's out front. The Fronts do drop quite a bit compared to the backs, gives the car a raked look to it. I have no rubbing issues but like I said i have the 45 series tires.
