Well... after drooling over the Glassback in the MRT Interceptor for almost 2 years, I finally pulled the trigger!

Here's some pics!

Ok... first impressions... This thing is SOOOOOO COOOOOL!!! You cannot believe the open feeling it give the cabin... I guess I've been a bit claustrophobic when it comes to driving my car... because no matter the weather I have to have the windows down! At least a little bit! Today, i drove home with the windows complete up!! LOL! But driving around town with the windows down and the glassback... well... I know it's not the same as a vert.. (I had a 02 GT Vert)... but the glassback is so dang big it really gives you a very open feeling! And the best part... I don't have to worry about BURNING MY BALD HEAD!!! LOL!

thats a sweet ride you got. i guess its been a while since you posted pics, because i dont remember any of those mods, only the power adder.

 :nice:

Thanks!

Been really busy, so my posting has been minimal... just lurking... I'm sooooo geeked about the Glassback I just had to post!!! I was busting at the seams! LOL!

Any heat gain at all? It looks great. Cost??

Thanks all!!!

Heat gain is minimal! Having the louvers on the back windows also helps keep the head down....

Cost... it's going to vary from shop to shop... You have to have the Glassback installed from an authorized dealer... prices seem to be $2500 to $3000...

Am i wrong or doesn't the glassback have a self changing tint in the glass alot like the sunglasses people wear that change when it is bright to a darker lense and to a clearer look when it is dark? If that is the case like i thought, i will be adding mine very soon because i have been saving for it. Thanks

i see in one of the interior pictures it looks like a dark tint and in another it seems very clear. Is it your digital camera playing tricks on me or was there some tint added?

thanks,
matt

ah.. i see what you mean... it's because the 1st inside shot I had the flash on to get a picture of the new headliner... the 2nd picture was with the flash off so you could see through the glass..

On the outside the roof appears very dark... but from the inside it's more of a slight tint...

Nope.. it does not change.....

Wow, then i was misinformed. I sat in a Saleen with a glassback at the 06 Dallas Carshow at the state fair and the salesman told me that it did that. Thanks for the straight on that.

AH!!! you didn't say Saleen... Saleen had there own version of a glass roof... The Glassback is the Classic Design Concepts version... not sure the name for the Saleen.. So in fact the Saleen version you seen could have been photosensitive... However I don't know if Saleen is still offering their glass roof any more..

Very awesome addition to the Mistress, John. :) The flames turned out spectacular. You have raised the benchmark in the "Yellow & Black" scheme. NICE!

If the open feel is similiar to the T-bar design in the TA it does give a whole new experience to driving. Would have liked it in the Six, indeed!
