I bought a 88' gt, which isn't in the best of shape. There is a cold air intake with a MAF sensor but it is not connected to anything, yet i can see the wire laying underneath it. The vacuum line has been pulled off the MAP sensor and it idles fine, and the ECU # is e7sf-d2a65o-cia.

Has my mustang been converted over to MAF or is it still Speed density?

Thank you,
John

on the computer you will see in small letter SD-x where x = a number. I took 3 computers from the bone yard and they had numbers from 1 to 3. My 86 is SD and has a SD-1. The question is why is the MAF disconnected. Maybe this was a conversion and it was not completed or was done wrong.

On the side of the ECU there is SFI SD-1. Does that mean it is still speed density?

well the computer is SD. Do a search on this forum for SD to MAF conversions and you will find plenty of help on making this conversion also you then can verify how far this conversion went before it was aborted.

sounds like he started but decided he did no want to buy a computer... if your already looking at the computer is there an extra wire running down to it? The wire that plugs into the maf runs down into the computer and either need spliced into a A9L or if it was a kit it came with a custom conversion plug. so i guess my question is where does that wire go on your car? but yes it is definatly on speed denasity.
