convertible frame connectors

Do you mean subframe connectors? I use the Kenny Brown extreme matrix, but I bought them 8+ years ago, don't know if they still make them, but they made a huge difference along with the strut tower brace and 4-point (convertible specific) g-load brace. You should be able to use most anyone's subframe connectors, they attach in different places than the stock stiffeners.

I ran Maximum Motorsports full length subs, K member brace and strut tower brace on my 93. Helped immensely. You might not be able to find the Kenny Brown stuff since he closed up his shop due to health issues.

I have a vert and just bought regular subframe connecters. You just have to drill out the rivets on the supports at the rear of the subframe to make them sit flush. Some people even put the plates back on after they modify them for more support.

did you guys remove the factory x-brace when installing the subframes? the problem i am having is the rear section of the factory x-brace hits my canton pan. i was wondering if i can just unbolt the brace all together? thanks

there are other x-braces made from other companies that will work too. I think they bolt to the "K" member. Take it off and see if you can either modify it or get someone to make a custom tube with the correct bends to clear your pan.

mine has heavy plates factory riveted from the frame rail ends to the rockers for reinforcements. i never understood how RIVETED plates could reinforce a v8 convertible unibody car very effectively, but im not an automotive engineer, so i decided not to remove them so i could use regular hardtop connectors, although that seems to me like it would be stronger. the car does flex a bit and is sqeuaky like a convertible unibody, and i want to fix this, particularly as i keep adding things to increase power.
