I brought my car to Town Fair Tire and got 2 wheels and an alignments. I come back got 2 new wheels but apparently they cant do the full alignment because the camber and caster has rivets. One of their "techs" said there is a kit for the mustang where it replaces the rivets and then i can bring my car back and they can realign it with this "kit" where he doesn't have to drill the rivets and put it back in. I went to my mechanic, who was baffled at why they didn't drill em out and replace em. I mentioned the kit and he called ford and they had no idea what he was talking about. My mechanic said bring it back he doesn't know y they didn't just drill the rivets and put new 1's in. My question is has any1 had this problem? Is there an alleged "kit" and if there is no kit why the heck didn't they drill the damn rivets and do my fricking alignments. The whole reason for 2 new tires was the alignment cus my tires were bowed. Now i spent 291.00 and have 2 new tires and NO DAMN ALIGNMENTS. what do i do any1 please help. Do i go back like my mechanic said and make them doit or do I have to have this stupid kit if there is 1. Ionno please help!! I need this alignment! Going to school in 2 weaks and its 45 mins away and its highway i need it! and i dont wanna go to another person to pay for an alignment, when i alrdy paid for 1 and got jack sqaut. The whole front is aligned EXCEPT the front left camber and caster. please helP!

The only thing I can think that the tech might be referring to is aftermarket Caster/Camber plates. If your stock plates don't offer enough adjustment to get the suspension within the correct specs, then you'll need aftermarket plates that allow greater range of adjustment. The other thing that makes me think this may be the case, is that in order to install the new plates, you drill the rivets out of the stock ones, and bolt in the new ones. Anyway, this adjustability problem is quite common with lowered Mustangs, so that leads to the obvious question... Is your car lowered or has anything else been done suspension-wise that could require more adjustments than the stock plates can provide?
