Ever since i've put in my new coil my car is making a weird sound. The best way to describe it is that it sounds like a faint geiger counter coming from my dash. Was just wondering if that was normal with this coil. Thanks guys and gals!

I don't think I have ever heard any thing bad about MSD porducts....maby the odd one

people probly returned them because the were expecting to see big power gains from a msd coil on a stock mustang.....and when the didn't they thought what a waste of money and returned them.

Mines been in for about 6 or 7 years now and the noise is still there, not sure if it quieted down or I just got used to it and dont even notice it unless I listen for it.

I always hear people talking about this humming etc.
yet ive never noticed mine make ANY noise at all. not a peep
but my mustang was always loud as ****, and even with the hood open car running standing in front of it.. never noticed a sound from it

I had the same issue with my MSD TFI coil. Not only did it buzz, but at night you could actually see the voltage arching between the plastic center portion and surrounding metal piece. I tried a second one, same problem. I ditched it and got a canister-style Blaster 2, no noise after that.

I've got one in the Notch, and yeah, it makes the funky buzzing sound. For the longest time, I thought it was my fuel pump, but then one day I realized that it was coming from the front of the car instead of the back, and I traced it to the coil. Weird.

No problems with it, aside from that, though. No gains, either - I just replaced it because it was fairly cheap (comparable to a standard coil) when I was giving the whole ignition system a tune-up (wires, plugs, cap/rotor, blah blah).
