Cobra sticker on valve cover

The original build tag on my 97 is a sticker. I couldn't replicate the sticker and I had my valve covers powder coated. I went with a stainless steel metal marked tag. It looks better and lasts longer than the sticker. The original sticker is pretty tattered and is now framed and hanging on my wall. :D

Cool. How did you replace the sticker?

I removed the sticker from the valve cover with a razor blade - very carefully. Do not use any liquids. It comes off pretty good. The trick is to gently pull the sticker out and then slide the blade down to cut the glue away from the cover. I scanned the old sticker to mtmunlimited.com and they did the new tag for me. I posted pictures earlier on this thread. It takes a steady hand, but it can be done.

wow... $80.. I was able to get a back-up certificate for free. The first one was mailed to me when I bought the car. A few years later, I wanted another one to display at the shows. I faxed over my registration and I can't remember what else and they sent me another certificate at no charge. Now the valve cover assembly tag/sticker is a completely different animal....

No S**t. I called for a replacement for my '03 around January/February 2007. I called the number from Cobra Bob's website - "Build Certificates (different from the Build Sheet) were printed and sent out at the end of the model runs. If you bought a used Cobra you can call SVT for a new copy of the Certificate. They will need your name and VIN number. Call them at 1-800-367-3788."

Did you get the build cert? What is different about it?

I called today and ordered my cert and it was $40 not $80.

The guy I talked to must have been an idiot. I called the number listed above and asked for an SVT certificate (not sure if the build sheet is the same thing) and he said it was $80. If it was $40 (at that time) I would have bought it. So either they changed prices or the guy I talked to was an idiot. Thanks though. I will get one at $40, but not at the $80 they told me before. What number did you call?

I am pretty sure I paid $40 for my SVT cert 4168 of 7496 and another $40 for my Mystic Certificate, 142 of 2000. On another popular forum, there is a thread going about the names on the build stickers/plates and problems that seem to be more prevelant with certain builders. The only place anyone found that HAD the sticker labels is sold out and they do not know when/if they will restock.

I called the number you mentioned earlier 1 800 367-3788. I talked to a guy named Mitchell, told him I bought a used Cobra(I didn't tell him it was nine years ago)and I understood there was a certificate I could get.

I got something for you!! Have you ever met another Cobra owner that had the same two guys sign the plaque?? I did. At Woodward Dream Cruise, I went to the snake pit and looked at every Cobra. I found another guy with the same two man team as me!! It was kind of cool!!!
