Here they is!!

painted it flat black, and to my amazement, the tube stays cool, I can go drive it for an hour, doing burnouts and stuff, and it still keeps cool I can put my hand right on it after I drive it.

enjoy.

I just used my existing mac cai, (the part in the fender) and then some more aluminum pipe I had lying around, plus the $3 paint, I scuffed all the pipe up with 80 grit, then shot a couple coats on it, and whalla!! I actaully felt a little power out of this mod, no kidding!! and ive had about every cai known to man, I also have a 70mm maf off of a 94-95gt as well, to keep the flow the same, with a 6" k&n on the end of the meter, no flooding probs either.

Nice work, got a question though.Where could I get an elbow that goes from the air meter to the fender well? I have a filter and plate just need the elbow that runs into the fenderwell. This is from a Moroso CAI. I've tried like Lowes and Home depot for a pvc pipe in that shape but no luck. Any help is appreciated!!

mine has 3 pieces, if you already have a cai that is non fenderwell mounted, take it off the tb, and put the whole thing into the fenderwell, pull out the plug for the hole in the fender skirt, then put the cai hose clamp through that hole, now all you need to do is, run piping to the tb, youve already made the "fenderwell" part, then lengthen the maf wiring. how I did mine was I just went to the pick n pull and took some different bends of 3" pipe off the ricer honduhz.

Considering that cold air intake systems provide little or no hp gains, i believe the only reason for replacing them with an aftermarket unit is looks. And in my book that does not look very great at all. You can't match the looks of a Brand name companys product. But as far as craftsman ship goes it looks like you did a pretty swell job on making it. Not dissing your finished product, its just in my book, you can't make a better looking product or even comparable one you buy from a company. but you get what you pay for.

You had the part..you made something different...good for you. By the way the stock box can look GREAT if you put the time into making it look great. I run one and it supports over 300to the wheels with a panel filter, but everyone has their own thoughts/wants..so again, good job.

whats been hacked? its 2 mac cai's put together.

It has about 37 couplers of different colors, and 74 mismatched rusty hose clamps facing all different directions. Just looks like butt, sorry. I mean, you accomplished what you were trying to do by making a fenderwell powerpipe style cai out of stuff you had laying around, which is great. But, it did nothing but make it look worse, which is the exact opposite of your intentions.

hey I think it looks good, some of you guys just dont like custom stuff I guess?

http://www.macperformance.com/store/...Product_ID=185 x 2 = $259 = not $3.

wrong again!! it was free, I had a friend go to a junkyard one night and totally strip a civic and he took the pipe and then gave it to me, it was wrong lol, but I got lots of free pipe!!! the only thing I paid for was the paint.

again it cost nothing, If you want to make one go find some free 3" aluminum pipe and go for it, you dont have to to summit and spend $300 on pipe, thats a waste of money.
