Roush SoCal Mustang Cruise -- 7/22

A few Mustangs (about 20 so far) will be meeting up the morning of July 22nd to grab some breakfast in Manhattan Beach and go for a cruise through the South Bay. This should be a fairly low-key affair. It would be great to see some other Saleens in the group.

PM me if you are interested.

Sounds good Stu.
I'm sure we can get a few guys together for this.

+1

Great! I think the plan is to park in the small lot immediately next to (and north of) Unlce Bill's Pancake House between 7:30-8:00 a.m. on Sunday, the 22nd.

I will post more details as we get them. In addition to the "regular", modded S197s in the group, we should have about a 1/2 dozen Saleens (possibly including my neighbor's PJ) and an older Cobra or two.

A quick update:

The plan is to meet between 7:30am-8am, on Sunday, July 22, in the parking lot immediately north of Uncle Bill's Pancake House, 1305 Highland Ave, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266. The lot is small, and fills up on weekends, so an early arrival is suggested. There is street parking nearby as well.

We will start in Manhattan, head north along the coast to the Marina, and loop back to finish in either Manhattan or Palos Verdes, depending on where you want to drop off.

Feel free to email me at [email protected] with any questions.

Rally......

Rally!

Stu, Bomb, Larry, Toddo, Bobby, Myself......who else???

After we get some breakfast I can think of a nice scenic route and a few switchbacks thrown in.

Stu. Let me know if you want some help with the cruise route.

Guys, we can cruise through the beach, along a highway and up some short twisties.

I posted to a few of the local guys in the club, Eddie Garcia and Jim K can't make it, Dennis is R&R ing at Monarch Beach.

I plan on being there around 8:00. Also doing Cars & Coffee in Irvine tomorrow morning.

Hey Marcus,
I'd definitely like your input on where to go (especially up in PV). PM me or email me at [email protected] with what you're thinking of for a route. I'd like to prepare printed directions tonight for everyone to have in hand during the cruise.

Also, I just confirmed yesterday that a neighbor will be there with his Saleen PJ and another friend will be there with his '89 Saleen.

Sorry I couldn't make cars and coffee this morning; I forgot I had a prior church commitment. Please post pictures!

So the plan is still to meet in the lot just North of Uncle Bill's Pancake House (see below). If you would like to have breakfast with us, please get there at 7:30am.

We will likely hit the road around 8:45am and do a loop north up to the Marina and back (about 30 minutes max).

Marcus has offered to lead the pack on a second leg down through the South Bay and up into the Palos Verdes peninsula, which should be another 45 minutes to an hour.

Feel free to email me at [email protected] if you have any last questions.

.....so where oh where are the pictures?? Marcus, Stu......Its been almost 24 hours since the cruise and still no pictures!! :p What's the deal??

Thanks to all that made the drive, I had a great time. Special thanks to Marcus for giving me a jump everytime we stopped!!:D Gotta love the $125 Optima Gell Cell battery that won't hold a charge, well worth the investment :notnice:

Hey Rob,
Ask and you shall receive. Attached below are some pix I took.

Thanks to Larry, Marcus, and Rob for bringing out their beautiful rides. Your Saleen's -- along with Stan's clean, original paint '89 -- really grabbed folks' attention. And when I explained to some of the "younger" owners (who had modded S197s) just what a S351R speedster was, and what kind of numbers it put down, the guys almost speechless.

And added thanks to Marcus for picking up most of the tab at Uncle Bill's Pancake House and finding us some amazing sight points and switchback roads up in Palos Verdes.

I'm hoping to make the Uncle Bill's meet and cruise an annual event.

Yea yea,

I told you honey to be there.:D

The next one for sure Bomb.

Yea, Robert used his "clutch" excuse again. I swear when the time is right here shortly, I'm going to buy him a new clutch so we can all find out how much horsepower is going on there. I say closer to 600 which means it's making 3 X the amount my notch is making.:D
The best part though was him having to "use" my 5 year old Motorcraft battery to start his beast three times.
Maybe Burrito can ammend the next one to a Sat. morning. We need to get the "silver sisters" together at some point.
