I got it and love it. Noticed a big differnce. Then I added a Diablo tune after taking out the restricter. I am a big Roush fan.

I'm sorry but this information is incorrect. The Roush CAI has 2 options. It comes with a tube insert that allows you to run your factory settings.
You have the option to remove this insert but Roush then recommends you get a custom tune (not chip) for your car or your Air/Fuel ratio and detonation may be off.
I am going to be using a Roush CAI and and will be installing it this weekend (Pics to come!).
I went with Roush not only because I own one, but because I can use it without changing my factory tune (voiding the warranty), and for the fact that if I decide I want to be more aggressive I can get a tune and take the tube insert (which restricts the air flow) out and go to town!

You're absolutely 100% correct about the Roush CAI, except for one minor detail ? changing the factory tune, does NOT void your warranty claim. Unless the aftermarket tune, is proven to be directly responsible for causing the warranted parts in question, to fail.. In addition, the Roush CAI is also designed and manufactured by Airaid

. Your 100% right on the Airaid side of things. Roush = Airaid as a CAI is concerned. Your other statement is where I get mixed answer from dealerships. Some Ford dealers in my area have told me if I touch the stock tune and anything goes wrong with the engine and they said anything, they will not warranty it.
However I was also told (by a smaller Ford dealership) your quote of unless the aftermarket tune, is proven to be directly responsible for causing the warranted parts in question, to fail..
So I'm on the fence on that subject I and would venture to say to check with a few local dealerships to get a feel for their responses!

Well the fact is..dealerships can only refuse to service a vehicle under a warranty claim..However, they do not have the authority to void a Ford factory warranty..For example, if something goes wrong with you're Shaker 500 ? they cannot void your warranty claim, because of a CAI ? the problem has to be proven to be directly related..Therefore, the dealership in question is required to either repair, or replace you're Shaker 500 under warranty..and if you happen to get mixed signals from a particular dealership ? then just walk away, and locate a different dealership, that's mod friendly and isn't such a bonehead to begin with
