How much HP can our stock AODE handle

I broke my aode about 100 miles after I put on the blower. Had it beefed up and no problems at all. I have a friend who has a stock aode and he has not been kind to it since his procharger went on and no problems for 5 years now.

Most people that drive sports cars wouldn't consider an automatic transmission. Of course there are exceptions - those that have track demons, or those that found the *perfect* car, except that it had an auto (I almost bought one, but held out). Still, there are those that prefer not to shift.

I don't understand it...but I'm cool with it :nice:

The "most people" you speak of... are the ones I LOVE to race. After the race, they rarely come back to talk. Many of them just drive out the exit of the track and go home. :rlaugh: Oh the stories I have from people bashing my AODE, then seeing nothing but my taillights. I love it. To me it's worth keeping the auto for this reason alone. The fact that I can eat a burger going through town while driving, my g/f can "safely" drive my car, and I can get MORE performance out of a nitrous setup is just awesome. You say there is less performance, but think about the juice for a second. A 5 speed nitrous shot is on, off, on, off, on, off, on..... an AODE driver? ON........... :D

A converter is gold though.... :nice:

i just changed my filter the other day, got rid of the chattering a little bit from 2nd to 3rd... i only emptied out about 3qts of fluid, that **** was BLACK!!!!

the magnet in the tranny pan had ALOT of metal shavings in it... :( and im only @ 99k
Holy crap, only 3 quarts?!?!?!????
Did you drain the converter too?

I'm with Paul, you better flush out the whole system.

my converter crapped out on a stock motor after about 110K miles, had the whole shudder thing goin on, felt like i was goin over tons of lil speed bumps. 5speed cured that

Did it do the sudder at certain rpms? Mine does something like that but only at 1300~1500rpms and only when the cars at normal opertaing temps...never does it when its cold? So it was just the converter?
