Tire Pressure Sensors

Does anyone know of any aftermarket alternatives to the $60 Ford OEM Tire Pressure Sensor and $60 straps? I am thinking about putting together seperate summer and winter tire/wheel sets for my '07 GT without having to swap the sensors back and forth. Thanks

I don't know about the sensors yet, but where I work we've got rolls of the steel bands they use and the clamps for them. You have to have a special tool to clamp them so you have to find a shop that can put them on for you. We've been using them for the new Fords we've been putting oversize wheels on.

AmericanMuscle.com has universal tire bands for like $16 apiece. Then I ordered the sensors from 50resto.com for $60 each...can't get away from that price sadly.

I do however wonder that when they change my car over to work with the new sensors, if that will change any parameters of my custom tune...but I guess I will have to wait and see!

its very low tech, but i saw somewhere there were some tire gauge fittings for the caps that show you visually if you're over/underinflated. costs a couple bucks, but it probably looks tacky on the mustang.

Discount tire sells 4 bands for 39.99 but I dont know if they have the sensors.

I read somewhere that one solution is to seal the sensors in a pvc tube with a tire valve mounted in one end, pump it up, and put the tube under a seat.

Why do you need new sensors? Why can't you take them off the stock wheels and reuse them with the worm type aftermarket clamps?

I was hoping to have 2 sets of wheels and tires. One for summer, one for winter and that I wouldnt have to break the tire bead each time to move the sensors. thanks
