Update on my plans

Guero you are going to hate the car if you go carb. It will be the biggest pain in the butt to do it mainly because you have to do some rewiring for your dash (ie tach , speedometer) and modifications to your fuel system. And because of the climate you live in you run more risk of getting a vapor lock in your fuel lines because of decreased fuel pressure and the heat if not properly modified.I have a friend that used to live in Cali and he went carb on his car and then moved to Arizona and the car didnt like the climate change he had alot of problems with it that he went back to EFI and never looked back .Good thing he had everything to change it back.Go to a reprubetable tuner to get it checked out if it gets fixed youll be happy again.

Hey man, I'm not trying to be a dick, but have you ever taken the car to a reputable tuner and said make it right? I have a real hard time believing there is no tuner who can make your car run correctly. I see thread after thread of you messin with that tweecer and never having it run right. Maybe its time to shell out the cash and have someone make it right for you. Again, I am not trying to be rude, but I think its a way better idea than carbing it. Good luck.

i personally dont think it would suck quite as bad as everyone is saying. however my first car was a carburated 302 68 torino gt. i learned so much about tuning carburators with that car. the carburator is not quite as sophisticated but you do have to break out the screwdriver when seasons change. as long as the changes are not very extreme. ive thought about it before with my 94 but i wanna try out fuel injection. fuelie is way more expensive than carb. holleys are really not too hard to tune. if you decide to go that route, definatly pick up a holley tuning book. theres some pretty cool stuff for them and there carbs have come a long way.

I didn't mean to pee, err stir the pot. :p Just an attempt at some humor because good ol' Jose was steamin (when I lived in Germany I experienced a similar frustration of not getting my point across exactly as I intended it to be).

Guero, here's a thread to possibly keep an eye on:

I still think a carb would be a large PITA but that's just me.

I do like B. Stampede's idea to still just chip it. The guys on 1320stangs should have a good idea of where to go, or better yet, our own Nik, CJones, Curt et al would know the good places and peeps to talk to.

Have you thought about if u go thru all of this to go Carb and then you STILL have problems. I'd be pretty damn frustrated if it happened to me.

If its not a tune then pay whoever to find the problem. Seems like the problem is unknown and if u dont know the problem, how can u fix it?

"IT IS NOT A TUNING PROBLEM" Its Something mechanical. This happen out of the blue. well my problem

If its mechanical it wont be fixed going carbed the problem WILL STILL be there I think you might of jumped a tooth on the timing chain or something.Does the motor make any weird sounds that makes you think its mechanical if not it has to be with the tune or one of the sensors or devices (ie CCRM) .Get it checked by a reputible shop and save yourself the headache. Buena suerte Compa

sorry, what is the mechanical issue you are going to solve by going carb?

i think most people will admit that a carbed setup is alot more simple than an efi setup and there are not nearly as many things that can go wrong.

contact diablostang, he can tell you what it takes to go carbed...

I have talkd to Diablo he gave me a helpful link ive read. Unless something is wrong with my block which their isn't, going carb is gonna fix. Their is no middle man to worry about. No sensor, CCRM, ECU, 02 sensors, IAT, ECT, nothing to worry about just spark and fuel!
