94 Mustang Cobra.......where to start?

I recently purchased a 94 Cobra from my father who has had the car since it was first driven off of the lot. He has taken ill and can no longer drive it. I have made minor modifications to the car at this point such as swapping out the stock 17x8's for Saleen S Style 18x9's. I also shoed the car with GSD3 265/40's in the rear and a pair of 255/40's up front. I also swapped out the original air filter with a K&N. The vehicle only has 25k miles on it and has rarely seen rain.

My question is this........

If one were to start to modify this vehicle where would they begin? I am working with a fairly limited bank account so twin turbo's are not an option. I would like to keep the vehicle looking stock as much as I can. The car is not a daily driver and it is doubtful that I will ever run it on a track. I like the sound of the vehicle now but I could stand to have it sound a bit more mean.

Where do I go from here?

Thanks in advance for all of the advice!

For performance, I'd swap in a set of 3.73 rear gears. For sound, a cat-back of your choice. If you have a few bucks left, shortie headers and an aftermarket X- or H-pipe will improve both the performance and sound.

Get it in excellent, PERFECT running condition and keep it largely stock with only minor mods such as catback, shifter, or custom tune to maximize the long term value.

This is what I have decided on doing with mine. It is not hard to find a modded out mustang, but when you see a stocker, it really does stand out. It is you car though, so do what makes you happy
