I've got a new 200amp pa perf. alternator in, about to order underd drive pullies and a DCC Mark VIII fan setup 3018-M I think it is. I have an AOD with a bolt on modded only 302. Should I go ahead and replace the 160K Mile radiator while I'm at it?
If so whats my best bet for an easy drop in solution to mate up with the MArk VIII DCC combo?

Thanks

Does the car stay decently cool right now (especially once at speed)?

If it does, one would think the radiator can reject enough heat. I might just do the fan/fan controller upgrade for now and see how it does.

A trans cooler (if you don't have one) is not a bad idea however.

Good luck.

Well, considering that the Florida 5.0 Instrument CLuster will be here Monday I guess I will have some time to see how hot this thing is getting. I still have the 93 2.3 cluster hooked up to my 88 5.0 wiring and the temp gauge doesn't read at all!

If you want, you could infer ECT temps or use an IR thermometer to get a crude idea of where you are at.

Sounds like your project is coming along nicely. :nice:

Def working on spending some money on it. Rear is next! then clean up the engine and on to the tranny....a never ending project....but we all know that. I've had this car as a 4 banger for about 5 years now. New instrument cluster is going in early this week so I'll use that and go from there. Its got the stock 4 banger radiator with 160K miles on it running strong

A new stock radiator for the 5.0 with two rows is available at any big parts house for AZ or Advance under $90 normally in stock. If you are going to mod the motor later on pay extra and get the 3 row radiator. You will never have to buy another one ever. HP is heat.
