DON’T BUY GRANATELLI!!!! Read this before purchasing anything made by Granatelli Motor Sports. I bought a Granatelli cold air kit for my 2007 Mustang GT (the one that comes with it’s own MAF sensor). I carefully installed it, and got check engine lights. Granatelli had me send back the calibration harness and sent me a new one. I installed it again, same thing happens again! I call them up and they tell me the cold air kit just doesn’t work with some vehicles and that I will get a full refund. I ship it back to the vendor (this is what they told me to do), and the vendor calls me and tells me they can’t refund my money because the kit is used. Well duh! I had to install it to find out it didn’t work (what is this, a Dilbert cartoon?). Long story short, they ship it back to Granatelli who now tells me they are charging a restocking fee to the vendor. The vendor then of course is charging me a 20% restocking fee!!! I tell Grantelli that they told me I’d be getting a full refund. They deny this and also deny telling me that the kit doesn’t work with some cars. This is total BS!!! Never buy anything from Grantelli, you’ll be sorry!

Exactly.

Further, manufacturer bashing by someone that just joined the forum to do it doesn't carry much weight.

Except the manufacturer advertises the CAI as requiring no tune on their own webpage. Seems like a valid complaint if they sell it to people by saying,
"•Adds 25+RWP, calibration module included (on some models as noted below)
•No computer re-flash required as with all others (with models that include calibrated MAF only)"

Just by searching "Granatelli" on pretty much any of late model Mustang forums could turn up several pages of dissatisfied people with thier products. I've never run any of their stuff, but with that kind of reputation I don't think I ever will.

From what I've seen and heard of Granatelli, the guy is a pure douchebag. Just look at his "Fuego". An obvious RIPOFF of the Predator. I recall hearing some rumors about him trying to steal stuff from Diablo in fact.

Pretty shady fellow if you ask me.

gms

I really like mine no problems at all. I tore the rubber sleve with my screw driver and they sent me another one at no cost. I did not want to mess with a tune and the car came alive with the gms. the car felt a little slugish with the stock intake . Sorry guys i had to post a postive to show not everyone gets screwed from g.m.s.

Some cai's require a tune, some don't for s-197's. Granatelli has most of his stuff made in China. Just because you're new to the forum doesn't mean you shouldn't speak your mind. As far as I'm concerned you have only stated the facts. I'd call them back and tell them you have begun to spread the word on the forums. Then tell them you'd be glad to update your forum threads showing a positive outcome and your satifaction with their customer service if they'd just make things right for you.
