I have a 351 in a '70 coupe with World Products 180 heads. They are burning plug wires on drivers side. 1000 deg wires. Short plugs. Still burning. Anyone have a solution or know why? Hooker headers . looking for a solution!!!!!!

One one side only?

Your tune up is wrong on that one side. It could be lean (high EGT's) or rich (burning unused fuel in the exhaust) and could be caused by a wide cause of problems.

If you really want it fixed you either need to buy a wide band O2 sensor and check it yourself or you can find a dyno with a wide band and have him do it.

My buddy used to run a NASCAR late model at a track that required a muffler. The flowmaster baffle fell apart and plugged the muffler up. From the time the mufffler failed to the car starting to miss becasue we'd melted the plug wires off the thing was like four laps.

check the color of the spark plugs. if they are white you are definatly to lean. are the headers coated??? hate to ask the obivious, but are the wires routed far enough away from the header tubes?? good luck. chris
