Roush S351 engine build specs?

Y a Ya !

bronco ha! Damn OJ Bronco.:D

In 99 they switched to an Econoline E350 processor! Woo hoo!

From 96 and up they actually hand made the wiring harness to trigger. I know the guy who made them for Saleen. He can be found and will still make them. The last time I asked he charge one large to do it. That's the price you have to pay to get the 97 upgrade, ..... Saleen style.:D

More good info!
So did the lucky S351 owners get a wiring diagram(s) to go with this unique setup? Are the diagrams available some where?
I can imagine some poor mechanic trying to figure it out without one....lol.

Thats fine... I just didn't know if they ran a trigger wheel on the back of the balancer or what.. I got my wifes 408W running Coil on Plug. But I wanna see what they did because i'm going to convert to OBD2 this winter hopefully and like to see what saleen done.

Wow how the heck do you do coil on plug on a Windsor?
That'd be way cool!
Or is it coilpacks like on a 96-98(?) 4.6?

Here in a few months when I get settled I can look at my harness and the two 99 cars and give you an answer as to what Saleen did. I was goign to start offering an electronics conversion package for people but, in the end it was more than most would be willing to pay. It was running over $1000 but, it was OBD II compatible. When the EPA finally gets emissions testing everywhere I'll open up shop! LOL!

NICE FIND!!!!
Here's some pics I pulled:

Looks like they've got some real heavy duty insulation on them but undoubtedly it works!

and i assume this is the trigger....I wonder where this would be sourced from? :

Joe's setup is similar to mine but also different.. He has a 302 based engine.. Mine is a 351W based. Now the what you call the trigger is actually a cam sync off an Explorer. His setup is using a 99+ EEC where i'm using the stock 95 GT Auto Computer and a waste spark setup compared to his firing one at a time when mine fires 2. I had to make my Cam sync from a V6 cam sync shaft and install it in a Explorer housing. He has more money than eye so he got his completed quicker then me :D

I'm wanting to convert mine to what his is this winter. Only reason why I went the way I did was because I didn't have anything to tune it with at the time. Now that I do it will be going OBD2. I'm just wanting to see the S351 96+ setup for the trigger because i'm curious to see what they did.

The S351 used a stock distributor but, has a crank trigger wheel and another sensor also. I can't remember off the top of my head what it does. I'll look at my car when I get back home next weekend.

I knew it used a stock distributor. I want to see the trigger wheel setup. Pictures would be great if you don't mind. I'm really interested in the Computer harness to see what they modified. guess I'll wait till ya get home :(

Sorry, I haven't been able to look at the car. I've been in the process of getting ready to move and change careers. I will be home this weekend and should eb able to crawl under the car. I have to change the oil cooler on it before going to a cruise in next Monday.

I have one brand new NOS harness for a 96-up S351 OBD II if anyone wants one really bad. It includes the alternator, injector, transmission, and computer harness. New before the mods done by Saleen the harnesses retail for over $1100. Add in more for the mods. Total price was a few hundred more when done.
