94/95 Battery harness / cable

I have searched and can’t seem to find a full replacement battery harness or even the total length of both sides of the battery harness. Does anyone know what length the positive and negative battery cable / harness is?

Thanks,
Jake

I would just buy some 4ga cable and ends and make your own. Just take a look at where the cables go and make a guess and buy some extra just in case.

LRS sells new cables - at the tune of over 200 beans.

Scott has the right idea. I might even suggest using 2 AWG. The only mildly tricky part will be cutting the terminal off the starter cable (at the battery cable connection point) and melding that to your new terminal. The issue is that you dont have much slack in the starter cable. If running a new starter cable, this is not an issue. But if you only really want to replace the battery cables themselves, it could be an issue to do decently.

Good luck.

are the factory cables 2awg? I had thought they were 4. But it never hurts to go bigger!!!!

I believe you're right about it being 4 AWG Scott. I suggested the 2 AWG for just the reason you said - upgrade for the sake of upgrading. It's nice to have a little bit of fudge factor or accomodate larger alternators, etc.

If anyone wants the info, the factory wires both are about 57". I used 2 gauge wire for both sides and all the way to the starter. I added an extra frame ground on the pass side motor mount to the sway bar mount. I also relocated the main ground from the water pump to the motor mount and to the swaybar bracket, much better connection!

Thanks!
