Alright, I got a 96 gt with a bassani catted x-pipe. I have Delta flow 40 series on the car now. I want a little more growl. should i change to the Flowmaster Original 40 series or should I go with a different brand all together ?

I got tired of the sound of my x pipe and 40's so I put some SLP lm1's on and dumped them. Glad I did to cause it was just the sound I was looking for. However I only drive the car about twice a week so I guess if it was a daily car I would want something quieter

Exhaust, tire, and oil selection decisions are ones that only you can make.

You will get a thousand answers that all basically boil down to; "its what I use so it must be good"

Its rare that you will encounter someone with any real empirical data to apply to your decision on these topics.

If you are going to take advice on these subjects look for the guys who say they have actually tried both of the two products your are considering. Of course this assumes you have narrowed it down to just TWO.

Good luck.

BTW, I have Magnaflows you should get those :rlaugh: :nice:

A good question would be what you mean by "growl"? Do you just want it louder? Do you want a deeper tone? Do you want it more aggressive?

Get rid of the cats, and you'll get a deeper, throatier tone and it'll be alot louder. I did this personally, and I'm happy. Note I am running an o/r h and the *super* 40's not the delta's, but I cant imagine it'd be that different.

Check out some sound clips. Just keep in mind you won't gain much power with catback or mufflers. The midpipe is good for HP, aside from headers.

Check again (at Mustang Exhaust) - they've revamped the site and most sound clips are gone...:(

Borla Stingers with an X FTW.

SLP LM2 also sounds great.

If you are stuck on Flows, I'd go to a 1 chamber.

I guess my answer would be all of the above louder, deeper, and more aggressive. I know may just get bassani since I like the x-pipe I have already. thanks for the input:nice:

i had teh bassani X-pipe and catback combo, liked it alot form the inside it sounded nice and a bit high pitched sound, but outside everyone told me it was a deep loud aggresive tone  .......... now i have the Prochamber O/R with the bassani Catback wayyyyyyy better:nice:
