Do the ECU tuners that work on the 5.0 cars work on the 2.3s as well? as after I throw a turbo on my 92 I'll probably need to retune the ECU and get a larger maf put on it. I already have a larger fuel pump and 36lbs injectors from a 94 supercoupe.

It's not that I want to use a MAF at all, I'd rather just use what is in there stock. My plans are to just slap a turbo on the motor for now then swap a 5.0 in there later. If I wanted to stick with the 2.3 however I'd just use the Dodge Turbo SMEC anyways because I have a chipped one and a burner and I'm pretty good with wiring

No, the computers used in the 87-93 2.3 mustangs have not been cracked. I'm not even sure a J3 can run on them even.

Not 100% correct. I work for SCT and our chips do work on these cars but we do not have full coverage of every ecm. They have the same J3 port as the 5.0 cars. I personally have one of our chips in my 93 4 cylinder where I modified some of the fuel and spark tables for better fuel economy.

Then wait and save money for the 5.0 swap, because this will run almost the same amount of money (depends on the engine prices though and you mechanical ability)

I don't see how spending

40 dollars for the injectors (bought already)
150 shipped for the turbo and manifold

The I/C piping, and intercooler, and material for the oil lines I already have as well as an APFR and the exhaust I can make myself then sell to whoever I sell the turbo "kit" to when I'm done with the 4 cyl(maybe I won't be done with it and I'll keep it in there)

VS

Paying (local prices)

Complete EFI 5.0 HO motor with wiring and computer - 500
T5 Tranny & Clutch - 600
8.8 Rear end - 200

Plus I'm pretty handy :). I'm not trying to sound like a jerk but slapping a turbo on the motor that is already in the car is far less work that pulling a motor. At least to me anyways

I'm not adding the computer or forging the bottom end because of the fact that the motor is just going to stay in there until it gets swapped out, and if I decide to keep it in there, then I'll swap in the Dodge SMEC and an actual turbo motor. The 7.5inch rear end is strong enough for everything I want to do with it. There will be no serious drag racing so that rear end won't blow apart. Plus the fact that there will be a detroit truetrac going in
